I agree. We the captain of this ship.
According to Neely Fuller Jr, if our community was a ship, the black man would be the captain. The crew would be the women and children. And do you know who's always responsible if the ship capsizes? The captain. Even if it ain't the captains direct fault, and one of his crew does something stupid, the responsibility falls on the captain (the man).
Sadly, our community is a ship that is simultaneously set on a fire we didn't start, and sinking from generations of ignored holes. Our captains(men) are out here mingling with the crew on some
"what are we gonna do?" nonsense or some, "
this ain't my problem", kinda sht.
I understand that most of this damage wasn't black folks fault, but nobody else is gonna fix it. At the end of the day it falls on black men to
reign in our women and fix our sinking ship.
Great metaphor, but just float a possible how. You and others that say this tend to not outline how you will change what women find attractive.
Because that's an extremely tall task, that would require rebranding media (hip-hop, tv, movies), and bushing older bitter single bw in the community who largely shape the mentalities of bw, because they all as a collective raise bw. You gonna make girls stop liking the Megs, Cardis, etc. and the messages they push? If so you're also going up against the cacs who fund that in the every realm of media. You'd be going up against the Lena Waithes (along with their benefactors), and alphabet folk who portray black men as weak, gender fluid, erratic beings.
3rd wave feminism in a lotta ways is the community's pandora's box. It's been opened and I don't really see a way to close it.
To put in perspective a quick anecdote, summer of 19 I worked through a gig app as an expeditor for a concert series, on of the waitresses (also on the app) was a pretty sista, knowledgeable, college educated. But when I had 1 on 1 convos with her I found she was into the LGBTQ+ activism, and danced at Coyote Ugly based off those
alone I could infer she more likely than not has debt for a degree she's not even able to use (a weak arts degree). Keep in mind last summer I'm 21 she's 26 (I come across older in person). After I learned this other shyt, she went from potential prospect to potential jumpoff. When I made my move to hang with her she asked me what I brought to the table, explaining that she was looking to get married within the next 2 years and this is a direct quote "while she wasn't opposed to me being that person, I had to go about it the right way." When I read that message I was a combo of

A woman a peg above a stripper, with debt, who's cozy with them alphabet folks asked me what I brought to the table, assuming I wanted something serious with her. I respectfully slid out of the situation, but was thorough shocked that the woman essentially was saying
"Hi there Russ, I'm Ciara how is it you'll be providing for me if I bless you with my p*ssy?

"
The moral of the story is a lot of the community is too far gone and you can only save what's salvageable or better, but some gotta die alone with no kids so they don't pass on their mentalities or habits.
