that demo version of Hollywood tonight sounds better than the shyt they released. Those faux Hall and Oats “I Cant Go For That” drums slap on this shyt.
Invincible was a botched release by MJ’s team and Sony and the tracklist needed guidance. A song like Threatened needed to be on there instead of 2000 Watts. You Rock My World was a great lead single but the video was trash and too damn long.
Couldn’t do shyt about the timing of the album because of 9/11. The look/feel of the the promo of the album was good but didn’t match the content. He needed a creative director for his later life, as crazy as that sounds because someone with the strong visuals he put out only needed to do it in doses
The Dangerous demos
Mind is the Magic
Serious Effect
Work That Body
Someone Put Your Hand Out (there is also a Bad era demo)
fukk I really miss him
Someone Put Your Hand Out got released for free as a Pepsi promo during the Dangerous tour but should’ve made the album considering Teddy flipped the original version.
Those Dangerous era demos are some next level shyt and a major departure from the Bad/Thriller. Teddy showing up took it to another level and basically New Jack could never eclipse it. Blood on the Dancefloor (the song) should’ve been on Dangerous too and that “album” should’ve been scrapped IMO
Sigfred and Roy hit a lick when MJ basically gave them Mind is the Magic for free. That shyt was a banger and with different lyrics that could’ve been a Dirty Diana part 2 type song to go right after Who Is It on the track list.
Real talk the Dangerous demos could be it’s own thread.
