From the biology of the digestive track, I would assume that Protein is constantly digested as food passes through the small intestine. Now if we can metabolize 30grams/hr, would that repeat in Hour #2 , 3, 4, etc while food is there? If I remember biology, the large intestine mainly remove water from the waste.

Am I that far off?
@MMSex, yes. Not all doctors are smart. Like lawyers, they just studied longer. They persevere, not necessarily ultra smart. This is why HC IT is forcing computer use on the industry.

its like this, proteins once broken down by your stomach acids can pass throught the walls of your small intestines and enter the blood stream

its there that they are metabolized...not necessarily in your gut

you have to consider that the way the small intestines work is by using enzymes to continually shrink the size of molecules from your food so that they can enter into your system from the cilia lining the walls. Larger molecules/fibers dont pass and are excreted

the truth is the 30g per meal myth has more to do with corporate marketing.

30g per meal means:

more meals
more money spent per meal
more profit

that meal could be protein shakes, food itself

the thing is with society is its very common that if something is repeated enough its taken for fact

consider wild animals that eat a large carcass all at once, do you think their small intestine is that much more advanced than ours? consider our ancestors that didnt have burger king and could only eat once or twice a day(or maybe even once every couple of days)

yet they were able to build muscle mass :leon:

this is why i always say trust your progression above all else

if you are lifting more weight than you were yesterday or a week ago, you are moving forward and building muscle :lift:

no doubt. i think i was just looking to see if the overactive thyroid was coming into play and getting in the way of gaining. but after what you said im not worried, cuz everything is going up.

1363 calories and 124g of protein today. Not bad for my first time really keeping track.
I diced up 3oz of chicken into a can of tuna and its pretty damn good. Not even eating it with bread or anything.

Going by nutrition labels I'll list what I ate. It may not be exact but this is what I got:

Breakfast: 1 serving Special Protein plus cereal with a 1/2 cup 1% milk
175 cals/14.5 g protein

Lunch: Apple pecan chicken salad (Full size) from Wendys
570 cal/37g protein

Snack: Chobani Mango yogurt 160 cal/13g protein

Dinner: Chicken/Tuna Salad
5oz can of chunk light tuna 125 calories/32.5g protein
3oz broiled chicken breast (this is where things get iffy) I settled on 138 cals/ 27g protein. I used this from myfitnesspal so it's not 100% accurate
2 TBL mayo 180 calories
1 TBL relish 15 calories
Total 458 Cals/ 59.5 g protein

Total for the day 1363 cals/124g

The chicken is the only thing I'm unsure of. Everything else came straight from the labels.

:leon: *looks up this apple pecan salad*

I love it! It's good as shyt(to me anyway) and the nutrition info includes the 2 packets of pomegranate vinaigrette I used.

Edit:

Today I'm checking in at 1273 calories and 112.5g of protein so far. I know I'll probably get hungry before the night so either I'll have some peanut butter, which will take me to 1523 calories and 121.5 g of protein or I may just do 3oz of chicken but I'm craving sweets so the peanut butter may be the best move for me.
