people try to underrate that 2017 Cavs team, they were a Really good team. they were loaded with talent and 3 point shooters. I believe they set a couple records that year too, like 3 pointers in a game by a team and Kevin Love scoring like 37 points in a quarter. people forget that team STREAM Rolled thru the East on their way to the finals.

The Warriors played a better "Team" game but the Cavs weren't undermanned by any stretch.

Kyrie outplayed Steph (AGAIN)

Kevin Love averaged just as many points as Klay did

out of the big 3 for both teams the only Cav that was outscored by his "counterpart" was Lebron, by KD.

Yeeeah with all that said, at the end of the day, no one expected the Cavs to win more than 2 games at best realistically. They were super underdogs. Even though they rolled through the East, everyone outside of Cleveland fans knew this series was a forgone conclusion.

As much as I was hating on that 13 Heat team, I have to admit, it has its lore.

The Raptors today are remidning me of that 04 Pistons team. I dont think anyone outside of Toronto gave them much of a chance, KD or no KD. And if Kawhi leaves? I think it will be that much more legendary. No one in Toronto can hate the man with so much hostry made in less than 10 months. It really is legendary what Kawhi is doing.

Agreed. The 04 Pistons and '19 Raptors both have no business beating the teams they were playing. The Lakers and Warriors were juggernauts. Though both squads suffered injuries, I still think The Warriors and Lakers had the better teams by far.

You out of your fukking mind to call 2000-02 Lakers boring and forgettable.

The most dominant physical athlete in shaq paired up with a young hungry explosive afro kobe. That lakeshow was the shyt! Two dominant forces with a great cast of role players in fox, shaw, rice, harper, fisher, horry, george etc.

You show your inability to read and understand the premise. I'm not ranking teams. I'm ranking the difficulty of the rings. The 3Peat Lakers played some of the worse NBA Finals opponents in history. Yes that Laker team was historic, but that run was not. They were HUUUUGE favorites to blowout each opponent every year from 00-02. They did not accomplish the impossible by beating the Sixers, Pacers and Nets. They did what the world expected them to do. Nothing legendary about that. That is the premise of the thread, my friend.

I might take that 2015 Warriors and put it in the solid list. Their first title although facing a depleted cavs team was not bad at all imo. Also, Remember the list is not calling the respective teams forgettable etc. just the finals run. Read folks.

You cant knock them because the east was asscheeks. The finals was just a consolation. Going through the west was the real challenge with portland, san antonio and sacramento.

OP rename this to finals series and it will be a great thread, championships in tiers make no sense.
:yeshrug:

Nah. nikkas just need to learn how to read. I'm accomplishing two things with this thread: giving nikkas a lesson in reading comprehension and discussing a topic I found interesting.

What do you mean people try to underrate them? They were huge under dogs, and everyone expected a thorough beating because they were facing essentially the same team as the year before with a new best player.

After game 1, the warriors were -700 favorites on the money line lmao

This is disingenuous. The Cavs were very good offensively and probably the best offensive Cavs team ever but they were absolutely undermanned to deal with the Warriors 2 way player personnel. I actually thought they should have just tried to put a Kyrie/Korver/LBJ/Love/Frye line up out there just to see if they could out 3 point the Warriors because we definitely didn't have the defensive personnel that could also produce on the offensive end. We were usually sacrificing one for the other while the Warriors had the luxury of having multiple lineups that could do both at all times. It's why Kyrie was discussed in trades for Paul George. We would have matched up a little better if that were the case cuz at least its another 2 way player.
