and the Pats will make enough plays..Damn, worst case scenario for Pats. I think whoever wins this game goes to the Superbowl.
The Ravens would have the worst secondary to ever play in the SB

I can't believe they held on during the Ravens last drive, Ravens should have won that game too2011 pats still hold that title. i'm still amazed they almost won the sb

It's what the Ravens do up the middle that should scare the Pats. Edge rushers don't hurt the Patriots as much as an up the middle push moving Brady from his spot does.
Nor do the ravens have to worry about getting beat deep facing the Pats.

Yeah you righti actually did a study on this some years back as a research project with advanced stats comparing the leagues..turned out the MLB had the highest degree of parity even though they dont have a salary cap.
its hard to isolate the variables though...MLB has a minor league system and even their most important position (SP) isnt as important as the most important position in NFL (QB) or the best player on a team in the NBA (generally). the thing is really about stability at QB and i bet that if i dragged that study out more it would show that the most successful NFL franchises in the past 15 years have had the least amount of change at QB (and perhaps coach to a lesser degree).

That's pretty close to being the truth.
The top 5 teams win percentage wise for the last 15 seasons are the Patriots, Colts, Steelers, Packers, Eagles.
Pats over that stretch have only had three QB's start games: Tom Brady (207), Drew Bledsoe (18), Matt Cassel (15). They've had the same coach the entire time.
Colts over that stretch have only had two QB's start over 10 games: Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. They've only officially had four coaches: Jim Mora, Tony Dungy, Jim Caldwell and Chuck Pagano
For the Packers only Brett Favre & Aaron Rodgers. They've had two coaches: Mike Sherman and Mike McCarthy.
For the Steelers it's only Ben Roethlisberger, Tommy Maddox and Kordell Stewart. They've had two coaches: Bill Cowher and Mike Tomlin.
For the Eagles only Donovan McNabb, Michael Vick and Nick Foles. They've had two coaches: Andy Reid and Chip Kelly.

the illusion of parity is so great in the nfl that fans will always be deluded into thinking their team has a chance
