Because Kobe never played well in a loss. If Kobe played well in either 2004 or 2008 and the team lost, we would be hearing a lot about it.

And you know this how? Is there some alternate universe you've been to that proves this point? Stop trying to fabricate fictional arguments. I'm here telling you ain't no Kobe fan trying to erase Ls off his resume like the Bron stans. We actually hold our star accountable when he doesn't live up to our expectations. For example, I've never tried to say Kobe scoring 50 points on 20-35 shooting in game 6 against the Suns absolves him of blame in that game or series. I've never said that if Kobe's teammates had showed up that game, that the Lakers would have won in 6 and would have never had to go to game 7 on the road. And to my knowledge not many Lakers fans have made this argument cause I've never heard it before.

Wanna know why I've never used that argument or something like it? Because I actually hold Kobe to that GOAT standard Bron stans claim LeBron is at. Kobe had amazing stats in game 6. However, I never used his stats that game to absolve him of blame. To me he should have gotten one of those rebounds in the finals seconds that ended up letting Tim Thomas get the tying score. He should have hit that final shot at the end of regulation. He should have played better in OT. That was my thinking as a Kobe fan after game 6. It wasn't let me blame Kobe's teammates for the loss and hide behind the fact Kobe had a statistically impressive game to try and get him off the hook for any blame.

I believe that just as Kobe and LeBron are very different people. So are Kobe and Bron stans. Kobe stans by in large have a mindset like Kobe. They hold him to a GOAT standard, accept nothing but championships, and don't make excuses for losing. Bron stans on the other hand don't hold LeBron to a high standard. They get excited by trivial things that have nothing to do with winning. And they look for excuses at every turn to try and absolve their gawd of blame.

We're just different types of people.

THIS IS THE DAMN TRUTH.

SPEAKING 100% OBJECTIVELY, IVE NOTICED THAT LEBRON FANS TEND TO BE A LOT MORE BETA IN NATURE.

I REALLY BELIEVE ITS WHAT DRAWS THEM TO HIM.

REAL TALK, I GOT TWO REALLY GOOD FRIENDS IN REAL LIFE- 1 A KOBE FAN AND 1 IS NOT THE BIGGEST BASKETBALL HEAD, BUT HE’S SEEMINGLY MORE DRAWN TO LEBRON. GUESS WHICH IS THE BETA?

I want to actually like LeBron. I respect him as a man. And he seems like a good dude. But his hoe tendancies more than anything else is why I can't fukk wit him. Like you said, its different personalities that attract people to certain dudes. For example, that cast at the end of game 4. That is a move that if Kobe did it, I would be done with him. Its something I just couldn't accept from my favorite player. But Bron stans readily accepted it and even defended it.

When I saw that, I realized we gotta be different people. Cause shyt like that would make me disown a nikka I was fukkin wit for years. Totally unacceptable.

YUP - I SAID IT EARLIER THIS WEEK, EVEN THE WAY LEBRON COMPLAINS TO REFS IS ON SOME HOE SHIIT, HOW HE ALWAYS LOOKE LIKE HE’S READY TO BUST INTO TEARS ON SOME STRAIGHT BIITCH SHIIT. WHEN KOBE DIDNT GET A CALL HE LIKED, HE LOOKED LIKE HE WAS GUNA RIP THE REFS HEAD OFF.

There's no way anybody who saw those early 2000 Lakers would ever choose Bron over Bean.
I've never understood why that debate has somehow become "beneath" Lebron. It's one more worthy of discussion than MJ-Bron and one where if you've seen both in their respective primes it's not really even up for controversy. It's Kobe, easily. Best two way player of the past 20 years

:mjlol: I was thinking the same during game 4 when I saw LeBron plead with the refs looking like that in the face. Its very unbecoming of a player of his stature.

I've said this for a long time. LeBron was born with superstar physical gifts but a role player's mentality. I sometimes think he wishes he wasn't as talented as he is. He seems to not be able to handle the responsibility and pressure that comes with his gifts. Hence the 2011 meltdown.

LeBron would have benefitted from being a sidekick early in his career to a superstar like Kobe. He would have done well in a Pippen role. And I think he would have enjoyed it.

Its cause most Bron fans aren't really Bron fans but just Kobe haters. They've been latching onto whatever new name pops up to try and knock Kobe down. It didn't work with AI, T-Mac, Vince, Pierce, and Wade as Kobe outlasted and exceeded them all. LeBron was the only one on Kobe's level and his penchant for racking up stats made him a nice candidate to try and use against Kobe.

The funny thing is most NBA players feel the Kobe/LeBron debate is more legit than Jordan/LeBron. Scottie Pippen said just as much on The Jump today.

:russ: Such bullshyt. You were never busting Kobe's ass about not getting those rebounds and you have said many times that you don't care about wins and losses. You just comment on it when it's convenient to whatever garbage you are trying to push at the time.

I care about wins or losses when it comes to being able to see more of the players I like. So while the regular season wins or losses didn't motivate me, I always rooted for Kobe to win in the playoffs because it guaranteed me more entertaining basketball.

With regard to busting Kobe, I don't do it on here or other sites cause that's your job as haters. There are more than enough Kobe haters who pounced on his every failure. They don't need me doing it. The difference between me and the Bron stans is I don't defend my favorite player's failing while that's all Bron stans do. For example, in another thread someone asked me how Kobe got swept by the Mavs in 2011. The implication being how can I attack LeBron for getting swept by the Warriors when Kobe was swept in 2011 by the Mavs. I responded by saying the Mavs swept Kobe cause he wasn't the same anymore in 2011. He was past his prime. He was old. He had a number of injuries. He was simply not the same player he was in 2009 which is IMO his final year in his prime and as the best player in the NBA.

As you see, I don't make excuses. Bron stans are the ones that act as though their favorite player has never failed but its instead always on his teammates and/or coaches. In 2011 Kobe failed because he was simply not the same player anymore. He was past his prime.

Saying someone lost because they were old and injured is the biggest excuse of all.
