Most of these dudes don't hear this breh :heh:

If they don't hear an 808, a repetitive beat, and a catchy hook....it's trash.

I swear this is the most musically illiterate generation breh. You can tell a lot of these kids' parents weren't really playing music around them when they were kids. If it's not trap they aren't fukking with it.
:scust:

I'm not mad at people not liking this or any song. But people talking about the production being bad...smh. Go listen to some non rap music brehs. Listen to some James Brown or some Prince or some jazz or The Beatles or Radiohead. I don't care, just listen to different shyt lol

what's funy is, most of these rappers they stan and their producers listen to all sorts of other music.

That's why their music is good b/c they draw from other influences.

This is what you and @Piff Perkins dont get. Just because a nikka does all those things that PIff brokedown, doesnt mean it = a great record.
I love the effort, but what ya'll are not considering is how forgettable the melodies are and how uneventful kendrick's flow is. Kendrick sounds wack on the mic,his aggressiveness sounds extra forced and nothing about his performance makes me want to recite it and nothing about the melodies in the track make me want to hum them. IMA BOSS can repetitive as fukk, but it's dope as fukk too, from the beat to the performances.
I listen to alot of older shyt, from hiphop R&B pop ,rock country etc so my mind is wide open to the factors Piff was trying to point out in kdot's song, but if you do all that and the song has low replay value, then who cares?
Look at something like PYT,i know it's not hiphop, but listen to the power.

It has vast changes from intro,to verse,to bridge,to hook, break down outro etc
But guess what, every where the song goes,is dope.
Kendrick shyt is just flat and forgettable. He can keep going a big shows via the machine but he has no street power. I guarantee this record want have a buzz to match meek's "intro' EVEN THOUGH it was put out on national tv. Nobody in my facebook friend list has brought it up AT ALL.

This is the correct hiphop way to do that type of shyt

Kendrick need to make better shyt PERIOD

1. So ur comparing a LIVE version of a song ur hearing for the first time, to a studio version of a Jay Z song? Jay Z might be one of the worst LIVE performers as far as rappers go. His voice is flat/uneventful....(all the stuff you attributed to Kendrick), and he stumbles over his words. The MTV Unplugged performance he had was good, but it was basically a studio live album. There are very few live songs that captivate ppl attention BEFORE hearing the studio version. The reason is that you can appreciate or hear all the detail.

2. Ur comparing a Michael Jackson R&B pop song to a rap song? :heh: Breh, you can't qualify that and still make a point. Michael JAckson's VOICE is a melodical instrument in itself. Kendrick doesn't have that b/c he's not a singer. Not even comparable.

3. Ur comparing a free-flowing live song, that's MEANT to be free-flowing, to a soul sample 4/4 loop with occasional drop ins & outs? :comeon:

4. LOL @ comparing anything Kendrick has done in the past year to a Meek Mill song.

Yes I'm comparing, live, not live doesn't negate my point. Weak flows weak melodies equals weak song PERIOD

:russell:

Kendrick is doing his own shyt....if he was trying to do shyt like HOV he'd be a biter wouldn't he ? :usure:

Get this pretentious bullshyt outta here man.:camby:

Yall nikkas want a rapper who has buzzes around his drops,or smash singles then fukking listen to the other dozens of rappers out there.

shyt start with Drake,Kanye..

shyt I think Sean's Dark Sky Paradise has the best replay value of an album dropped in 2015..others would disagree. but :manny: nikkas making up bullshyt criteria though ...shyt getting annoying. Mainly started by the BOOTH WOAT.

i actually like this performance

very musical

it sounds like wesleys theme which was the only good song on TPAB

if TPAB sounded like this all the way through it woulda been good but most of the album is weak

:jbhmm:

I fukk with Dark Sky Paradise more than TPAB so I won't argue with this...though i'll see if Sean comes with it for this next album...because Kendrick has him 2 albums to 1.:ehh:
Who has more memorable songs? we both know the answer. when people look back a decade from now,big sean's music will be remembered more
