the NBA realistically wouldn't be on broadcast more than they already are. The NFL has the benefit of largely having 1 day for stuff. The NBA is every day and networks aren't gonna fight to do that, especially when they own streaming services and cable networks they wanna justify and utilize.
There is no reason the NBA could not have 2 games on Broadcast twice a week during regular season.
Saturday night game of the week and maybe a Thursday night game of the week

NBC is airing on Tuesday and Sunday when they get the rights.
ABC was giving us some Saturdays and Sundays during the season after college football ends, but remember they were the only network with an NBA deal.
Yeah that's my point though until NBC got rights back you only got one Saturday night game. Sunday evening for playoffs finals but nothing important during the regular season. Imho

because ABC in reality only wanted the NBA for the playoffs. They air other shyt during the week that they're not gonna remove, especially when they have the partnership they have with ESPN.
All those networks are like that. They don't mind airing sports. They just don't wanna become a sports network.
Only ABC was like that because they had ESPN.
CBS, Fox, and NBC would show sports on the networks, because that i why they bought them.
Eeryone was shifting to live sports for viewership as it allievated recording and later watching due to the nature of the event.
Only Disney was dumb enough to say oh fukk the build up they'll watch it on ESPN.
That said i'm glad NBC is back in the game and poised with money to compete against disney on the sports front now.
Unfortunately the NFL is going down this road with putting big regular season games on amazon and netflix.

all of them have sports networks (HAD in NBC's case). If NBC hadn't shuttered NBCSN, they might have used that as an option instead of exclusively going to Peacock on a couple of nights (then again, I thought NBC would use USA to air some games and they're not even doing that).
NBC would still put on Kentucky Derby, PBC boxing, Notre Dame football, and other events in prime time when they had them, with NBCSN. CBS only puts niche sports like racing or mlb on their sport networks, same with Fox and FS1. they need eyes on broadcast networks.
