That is an extreme outlier for rent due to its location. That is considered a discount and affordable cuz the neighborhood commands 5k+ for a 1 bedroom. Look at affordable housing on lets say webster ave in the bronx you looking at 700 -900 for a one bedroom for incomes between 24k-36k a year.

:mjlol:

Meanwhile I'm about to take $40K out of my home's equity and invest in something. The same house i bought 2 years ago and now a company (offerpad) just made me an offer that's $77K more than i paid just 2 years ago.
I live less than 5 minutes from Downtown Atlanta (East Atlanta Village/Gresham Park area).
I still laugh at my cousin who's miserable in NY but wont leave.

Is that good?:patrice:
May not be good for which ever City you live in, but LA that’s good and it was good area, $1500 gets a 200 sq ft studio in SF, and NY you’d have to be out in Yonkers or somethin. My point was that LA isn’t as bad as the other 2. Of course if you tryna move to Beverly Hills or Near the beach then yea of course it’s expensive

That apartment complex is in a prime area of Manhattan, right on 14th street, so of course it's expensive to live in that part of the city, the outer boroughs have much cheaper rent.

Even this aint even true anymore everywhere except tge south bronx being gentrified and rents rising.

Yeah the income requirements don't make sense even when you look at the BX. Personally know chick's who have turned down promotions just so that they wouldn't lose their apartments.

Someone payin' $700-900/mo in rent he mentioned.
Uhhh I don't think you can really afford $900 a month rent when you're making $36,000 a year. After taxes and utilities...
