Why would you want it to be backwards compatible? Wouldn't that mean the technology would have to be held back just to play Wii U games? Doesn't seem worth it to me. I want a Nintendo console thats as powerful as PS4 and Xbox One.

The handheld market will not keep them a float in 2016

Kids have tablets and phone games now and when they are ready for real games they are on home consoles

There is no handheld market anymore

the 3ds was released in 2011 and has sold over 50 million. whether or not they can replicate that depends on the concept and how good they clean their ecosystem up. just gotta wait and see what they have planned. plus as long as they have mario, zelda and pokemon then they'll be good.

Wii U still has the best exclusives between the three current consoles. I would probably buy this but they need to push out more games without those big gaps of no activity. Also they need to create a real online network (ID and purchases tied to the console ) and stop making their menus strictly for nine year olds. If you're hoping for third party support for Nintrndo at this point, you're pouring jelly on yourself.

This all in one device better have a high resolution. The Wii U tablet's resolution is too low.

I don't know what Nintendo is thinking about with the NX. Will it just be portable, or can you also hook it up to your TV? I don't want a 3DSXXXL. I want a full fledged system that is as powerful as the PS4 or X1. Probably not gonna happen though.

Imagine a retina-like display that outputs something like 1440p on a 10 inch screen. It could have HDMI out to hook it up to your TV and Bluetooth controllers to play with. I could rock with that

Oh and Mario. There better be a Mario game at launch. They need a killer app at launch to incite all those that felt the Wii U was too weak and threw Nintendo to the bushes.

I have a feeling it'll be something like this. That would make sense since it'd basically be both a handheld and a console.. like an Nvidia shield.

I do expect Japanese 3rd parties to be on board like Square Enix (hell they technically were the first to announce a NX game), Capcom, Atlus, Namco Bandai, Sega, Level 5 and Koei Tecmo. And since it's looking to have and handheld component, they're sure to get support for that at least.


Besides, where else are they gonna put those games on, the Vita?

Now as far as western 3rd parties are concerned, I only expect Ubisoft with Just Dance shovelware and Activision with Skylanders and that's on a good day. Companies like EA, WB Games, 2K, Rockstar, Bethesda etc. probably wont even bother.
