"Stan" ? Stop it. He's a fan yes, but a stan ? No. :snoop:
He's also a fan of Jay-Z and Biggie as well, he's also quoted them several times (so have other TDE/Black Hippy) artists.
If anything I'd say "Buried Alive" is obviously Eminem/Andre3K inspired because Wayne has never rapped like that especially
the Wayne Kendrick has been influenced by which is clearly C1/C2/C3/The Suffix/The Prefix/Dedication Series etc. Wayne.
That style was/still is heavily focused on Punch Lines and a simpler flow.

I'm finding it hard to believe that you listened to those tapes (outside of C4) and his other work
if you or anyone else is really trying to run with the "He just copies wayne" statements.
I mean hell I'd have a hard time believing you guys have extensively listened to Wayne's 04/05/06/07/08 work
if you're saying he raps like Eminem. :dead:
I said Buried Alive Interlude sounds just like Andre 3000 :dahell:, flow wise and lyrically...

He is a stan did you not see the tweet and statements @Poitier posted? Stan /=\ big fan of a certain artist. Kendrick is indeed a big fan of Lil Wayne undeniable...

When did I say he sounded exactly like Lil Wayne of course he has other influences too :mjlol:

Why won't you give Wayne his props man? You over here bringing up Method Man, when Method Man is clearly nowhere near the influence for Kendrick Lamar, that Lil Wayne is...

I would think a song like Michael Jordan, the C4 mixtape and all those quotes from Kendrick Lamar himself would give you an idea that Wayne was clearly a huge influence on him...

Why the fukk are we letting some wack ass magazine like noisey and vice magazine try to say what has been going on in hip hop when all they have been doing is pretty much making a mockery of it since day one for all the wrong reasons.

The only reason why they say gucci mane is because that motherfukker to them is nothing but a minstrel show where they can crack on safely without being called out. Kanye West literally changed the rap shyt from being all gangster out to it being safe to talk about things other than gangster shyt. Yet gucci mane who ain't even popular like that outside the underground scene gets the nod from those yuppies. fukk vice magazine and everything they stand for.

These fools said of the last decade when gucci ain't even started ringing bells until 2010. Wtf are they talking about?

I like Gucci, but I can't take anything from Noisey serious. The Migo's went on that one ESPN show and said that the Noisey special that was done for them was scripted. even said they had them living out a rented house and made it seem like they were really in the mud with it. they tried to back track and clean it up and say "But it was based off our lives, we really did used to live like that."

Noisey lost they cred with me after that.

As far as a I know Kendrick is a self admitted Wayne Stan... I don't really hear it too much in his style and certainly not in his subject matter of beat selection... But he has certainly copped to that on numerous occasions...

Lol.. Gucci was a God to nikkas like Lil B , Soulja Boy. They literally tried to copy his mannerisms. The last 10 though? I would say Weezy.

The Ummah!
I been saying this the Gucci generation, Wayne had an influence, but Gucci influence is far greater, from the street subject matter, lingo, gang affiliations, tats, cadence, flow beats whatever, wayne has al that but guwop got the top dude right now directly influenced down to his name.

Negative connotations of Stan aside, Kendrick Lamar sounds like Kendrick Lamar.
You can hear his influences but to say any one rapper is totally influential on his rapping style
is wrong. :yeshrug: And Buried Alive sounds like "Kendrick", there's a certain aggression
there that's largely absent from Andre 3k's delivery.

The closest to Wayne currently out would be IMO Young Thug, that's an example of someone
who takes influence the Wayne influence pretty far. Mimicking aspects of Wayne from auto-tune,subject
matter, writing style right down to tatts and attire.
When did I say he sounded exactly like Lil Wayne of course he has other influences too :mjlol:
:dahell:
How can you listen to this and not hear a guy trying to rap like Wayne?
I figured that's what you were insinuating when you said this, I think most reasonable
people would.
:pachaha:

Why won't you give Wayne his props man? You over here bringing up Method Man, when Method Man is clearly nowhere near the influence for Kendrick Lamar, that Lil Wayne is...
Where is this coming from ? Nowhere did I state Wayne has no influence neither did I say he
had no influence on Kendrick Lamar. There is however me combating this goofy Coli Half-Truth
that Kendrick Lamar is a "Wayne Clone" or "Copies Wayne".

Saying Kendrick Lamar is Andre 3k/Eminem/Wayne/Pac/Jay/Big/Nas or any other rapper he
can be linked to is a really lazy comparison.
It's tantamount to just about any Black man with a guitar being linked to Jimi Hendrix.

Matter of fact I'll quote myself here :
I mean if anyone is doubting this at this point, I'm assuming it's because they have no ears.

From this very thread :
http://www.thecoli.com/threads/kendrick-lamar-calls-lil-wayne-one-of-the-most-influential-music-artists-of-this-generation.311172/

I would think a song like Michael Jordan, the C4 mixtape and all those quotes from Kendrick Lamar himself would give you an idea that Wayne was clearly a huge influence on him...
There you go again with "Huge influence", there's no doubt that there's a Wayne influence
there. However you're clearly giving Wayne more credit than he's due when it comes to Kendrick
Lamar even when it's pretty plain dude is the sum of several other rappers and still manages to have
his own distinct voice.

Can you link that Migos ESPN bit? I've never heard of this. :ohhh:

Nope, the answers are Lil Wayne and Kanye West.

Not saying Gucci isn't influential but he's not near those two. I'll never understand hipster magazines obsession with Gucci Mane and Cam'ron.
Hipsters obsession with those 2 is based around the fact they dont view hip hop as art and think ignorant rap is funny to listen to ironically. Same hipsters that made lil b.

:heh: @ the most influential rapper being someone who cant go gold.
