Normally, I'm a Timbs, Jordans, Supra collector (still am) and a casual guy who loves Lacoste polo's but not really a fan of dressing up

Well I'm transitioning between jobs, beginning internships, doing interviews and taking classes and you're required to dress the part.

The compliments you get :wow:

The looks you get :wow:

The way people TREAT you:wow:

I'm completely comfortable and content in rocking dress attire now... You just FEEL like you're about business... you FEEL like you're on point just because you look on point.

Even people in class acted differently towards me when I was on point. Even the instructors, who were dressed sharp themselves, were like :ehh: and went to me to actually assist during the class :wow:

I even went shopping for a new watch afterwards (and normally i don't wear watches.. a pet peeve of mines). And was about to cop it but they only had the display in stock.... I wanted it so bad because it would've definitely set the outfit off for tomorrow but I'll wait until next week.

Workout and dress nice brehs... you can't lose

The biggest reason.

The Truth
Was talking about this cac @O.T.I.S. :sas2:
I have posted pics on this site... Whether I'm white or not isn't relevant to this post... But please, continue to try and derail it :sas1:

crab in a barrel ass nikka:sas2:

So.....nikkas are 'dressing better' and getting compliments from non black people which is in turn making them feel better for themselves and better than other blacks.

:ohhh:

:camby:
Keep thinking that if you want:sas2:

I'm 100% with you breh, but man my gear is wack and limited. I just don't feel confident when I step out of the house man. :mjcry:

I've had a lot of weight fluctuations over the years combined with the fact that I was trained to shop cheap. So the shyt I have is just that - cheap. I HATE the way I'm dressed on the daily man. Pants don't fit, shirts don't feel right, tie game is meh.:mjcry:

Any advice? I'm really interested in stepping my formal game up. It's an emergency. I don't really know the first thing about it.:mjcry:
I'll get back at you later breh, in class. I'm sure others can help you out better tho

Jeans, tees, kicks.... Im good. Thankfully in my field of work, this shyt don't matter. Thankfully chicks choose me off my natural looks, not what garments I cover them with.

i don't like wearing suits/ties/dress pants/dress shoes. i do feel like it's holding my game back to be honest cause i won't even front, i always get mad compliments from female when i dress up even just slightly. they start choosing. the ones you don't know you feel their look on you. the ones you do know treat you slightly different and compliment (yes, low key brag)

i just don't feel that comfortable in it to be honest. i'd probably get used to it if it was an everyday thing. as of right now it's only when i have to.

i have had both the best and worst night of my life in a fresh suit

i'm talking 400 dollar shirt suit.. looking so fresh and fly on formal night on this cruise... me and my boys all fly

all the ladies, even the uppidy white ones with me, looking at us like :takedat:

all the women our age, coming up to us, rubbing on my shoulder to feel the material, smiling all happy to be talking to me like :shaq:

booking so many broads who didn't look twice when they saw us days before, looking like the Lox and J-hood :sadcam:

so we ending up booking these girls and we're on our way to their room... we pass by our white homie we met on the cruise.. he got this bad spanish joint with him.... the convo goes like this

us :yooooooooo what up man" :russ:

white boy : you know you know... bout to call it a night" :jawalrus:

her: "baby you know them??" :ohhh:

white boy: "yea i met them on the cruise, they cool as shyt" :salute:

her: "but baby..........." :sas1:

*looks me right in my eye* :mjpls:

"AREN'T THEY THUGS??" :sas2:

white boy: :merchant::whoa::ufdup:

"whaaaaaaaaaat?" :snoop:

"guys guys... man.... i'm sorry"

This. The reason why you think (you as in OP) suits are prestigious clothing is because of conditioning, nothing else.
It has nothing to do with that

Honestly, IDGAF what people think, I just noticed the change in behavior because I dressed the part.

Look the part, be the part. I'm transitioning out of my old life into my new one, and honestly nikka I want to make atleast a 100k:stopitslime:

So wtf you think I need to look like to make 100k. Not saying that money is everything, but I got plans and shyt I want to do while also being able to live comfortably.

Right now I'm wearing a Lacoste polo, slacks, and dress shoes... Very casual. When I'm at home or going to the corner store I'm wearing wife eaters, basketball shorts, and bball shoes/sandals with the socks. Ain't shyt changed, just switching up my style

Dude in my class gave a very great example. You ever gone to the store and just bought something just because it looks good? That's what employers do when they pick you for a job. If you're equally (or more) qualified than the next person they're STILL going to pick the one they like the most and dresses the best.

Why you think the military prefers its soldiers to look good in their uniforms?

I'm jealous I gotta wear scubs at work. It's like wearing pajamas all day though so it's cool.
