Now That CP0 Has Blown his 4th 2-0 Lead, Can We Agree The "True Point Guard" Title Is Meaningless?

He wasn’t the most impactful guy on those finals teams though. That’s why iggy and kd got the mvps. The list is short

Zeke
Billups
Tony Parker

This is why I’ll never shyt on Dame for not leading Portland to ring..it’s damn near impossible to do that as a little guy
yeah he was

FMVP credibility took a hit that year. It was narrative based. Warriors were about to be down 3-2 going back to cleveland before steph went nuclear in that 4th quarter of Game 5 and took them to the top. even with all that elite defense from Iguodala, they were THIS close to being down 3-2 after 5 games. Voters acted weird and were giving bron special votes for losing. Same voters who game Jimmy butler 0 FMVP votes for willing the Heat to 6 games w/o Bam and Dragic

it was all hypocrisy. Iguodala was on JJ reddikk's podcast just last week talking about how deep down he knows steph deserved FMVP that year.

It's similar to a football team with a high-powered offense that decides to run the ball 70% of the time.

Sure, you may be averaging 4.8 yards per carry, BUT your team has only 13 points at halftime of the NFC Championship Game.
Yep. God forbid that they're down by more than a couple touchdowns. They're pretty much fukked at that point.

He can’t live this one down man…

he shrunk and stunk it up for the majority of the finals. And like I said if he was hurt he shouldn’t have been out there. They should have gave cam and Frank way more run.

dude is never going to be in that championship class. He just doesn’t have it in him.
giannis's fukking knee bent the other way. CP0 has no excuse. He just fukking blew it

OP

The Mavs title run wasn't lead by their point guard, but he was a key component orchestrating the offense and playing defense.
Dirk and Jet shot lights out, but they don't win the ring without Jason Kidd.

Chris Paul shortcomings don't mean that the position is meaningless.

This, that type PG will never be extinct/will always be needed to win games, cats in here talking nonsense

What kind of BS narratives are y'all spewing. That's like saying you can't win with a C as your best player now, since no one has done it since Shaq 20 years ago. It's always been the players complimenting your superstar/star that determine how much of a contender you are.

A true PG simply runs the team. How often has a team won a championship with a PG as the best player? Zeke & Magic? '73 Knicks you can argue Frazier was their best player that year....but who else? It's an anomaly. And Magic was 6'9.

He dribbles to much and teams eventually adjust to him. Suns should of given more shots to Ayton, Payne, Johnson and Mikal. But in dribble dribble fashion he has to create everything and never trusts his teammates.
