It's hilarious how they are buying this lollipop legislation that he is offering. For some odd reason people actually believe that the "rich" (entrepeneurs) are just going to give up a larger chunk of their share. Retail profit margin is usually 20% or so. They are not going to shrink that margin for the sake of paper mache politics, they are going to maintain it all costs; whether it means raising prices on goods and services and/or reducing labor costs.

It's the new "trickle down" economics at play.

Lets stop with the hyperbole and start talking in real world examples.

OK 5 years ago minimum wage was 5.85, now its 7.25. Give me some examples of consumer goods that increased in price to the point where the benefit of the extra 1.40 did not outweigh the increase in price for said goods in that 5 year time span. Shouldn't be too hard given how dug in you are in your stance.

All that's going to do is raise the price of everything else and make them companies cut jobs. I wish it would really help, but raising the minimum wage doesn't really help much in the long term. What they really need to do is bring decent paying jobs back to the states. That middle class is disappearing quite fast.

I cant believe these cats in here defending the rich people. They brought all this upon themselves when they decided to hoard all the money for themselves and keep wages stagnant for the last 40 years. This country has the one of the largest income inequality gaps in the modern world yet there is no shortage of people defending the rich.

Do they not understand that with the minimum wage at 7.25 all that is taking place is businesses are using government welfare as a supplement to their employees wages. If you are an adult making minimum wage you are on welfare, period.

To answer your question to the other guy what goods prices have increased specifically, I guarantee you if he did say something he would say tobacco products.......

And completely forget about the fact that those prices increased dramatically because of that bill Obama signed in 2009 to make those dramatic tax increases to tobbacco to help decrease usage in the country.

But nobody in here can name a bigger product/bigger increase than something like that. NOBODY. The biggest average price increase we got was because of legislation to increase a tax on a certain product........not because of a previous minimum wage increase.

And I REALLY hope some clowns in here aren't going to bring up things like Apple Iphone, Ipad,etc products as examples of goods they are talking about. I really hope a clown in here was not going to talk about that. When those prices are already set.

When we had a minimum wage increase in 97 why did we not get out of that economic surplus/boom we were in and dip into recession right away? How unusual
