I find it crazy that people are upset that college will now be status quo. Fuk some have even said it'll make certs worthless...the point is they already are worthless.

Can someone please explain to me how having a more educated populous is a bad thing?
a bunch of people majored in bullshyt and are mad others have a chance to catch up to their failure in life in a time where social media shows them what they DONT have :sas2:

Yeah it's a complete paradox, one minute they're screaming about the need for minorities to focus on education, then when steps are made to make education more readily available people complain, the irony....

An educated populace always commits less violent crime and has less children out of wedlock as well, lets watch the narrative shift to something else outrageous...

Though, to be fair, education is a long term investment. We do not necessarily see the results immediately. It is definitely worth fighting for but it is not the immediate economic remedy.

It undermines capitalism. I'll expand on it later if you wish.

Meh, IMO I just think the work needs to start at the lower education levels and then move up. The 4 year "bachelor" should just be a 2 year degree after completing high school. You have K-10 to squeeze in those extra 2 years, then grades 11-12 should give the students options just like when you enter community college. In the big picture, 2 years squeezed into 10 is not really that difficult. I am sure this can be done, start teaching computer science after grade 9. It is essentially eliminating the "High School" diploma and receiving your "associates" after finishing grade 12.

This current model will just cost more money in the long run funding a stopgap to what people really need to go after...4 year college degrees.

Basically what I get is pamper average student barely floating taking entry-level courses and transfer over to a 4 year program taking advanced level courses now realizing he is paying for it now I wonder the success rate of this program

:russ:

I just want to know how he plans to fund it...:ehh:

the government shutdown cost taxpayers an estimated 24 billion dollars...

the hypocrites in congress (on both sides) include billions of dollars in pork barrel projects in each budget...

the gop will waste tens of millions of taxpayer dollars attempting to litigate obamacare over the next few years and beyond...

something tells me if both sides of the aisle an commit to it this it can be easily funded. the economic returns of a better educated populace will more than pay for the investment in this program. people just need to change their mindset from asking "how he plans to fund it" to "what can we do to make sure this gets funded."
