Yeah but higher education instills innovations and leads to research, or better products
Education period IMO.
We seriously need to address k-12 and cut spending.
This is IMO not a fix, but a political move to help Dems in congress.

I would like to see the cost of this initiative cut directly from the defense budget. :manny:

Congress just spent 120 million on tanks that the military doesn't even want. Are you mad about that? You're getting mad at people wanting education.

You all really think it's fukking wise to put your entire young generation into debt just to get a fukking degree?
Ehh... you can get the same basic comunity college education by using the internert. College is only needed if you want to go into something like enineering, medicing, nursing etc. But If you want to maj
As long as this doesnt raise taxes it would be a dope move my obama and i am not a supporter of his.
It's going to raise taxes. The money has to come from somewhere. An educated populace is good anyways, even if they don't have job prospects.

Pell grants already make community college free for the people that need it to be free, and most cases people actually receive money.
Yo in California they have fee waivers which make tuition free, on top of Pell grants for eligible candidates, and still the drop out rate for cc's is above 50%, will less than 15% actually transferring each year. And on average it takes students in California on average four years to transfer

Looks the fee waiver is only available to vets when I do a quick google search.

But this is one of those things that sounds better than it actually is, community college is free to those living in poverty thanks to pell grants. And for people with means I could care less if mommy and daddy have to fork over a few g's for them to attend. It takes minimal effort at this point to attend community college, if you lower the barrier from here, it's going to be just like the public schools where problem students cause headaches for the students trying to learn and advance. A better proposal would be something along the lines of lowering tuition for students transferring from community colleges to university's, or shyt.. make that free if a student maintained a 2.5 throughout community college..
