Hit up marshalls, ross or tj maxx for some discount dumbbells too. You will be good.

I can't really afford a gym membership either so I utilize what I can do for free.

Download the nike training club app for workouts. You might need low cost items like a jump rope or weights but overall its free and most workouts require just a little effort from you.

Find some free downloads of p90x or insanity or some other popular work out video.

Clear a space in your home and try to dedicate 20mins a day. Thats an episode of a tv show and can be done at any time of the day

Another thing I would recommend is to start slow. Going to the gym trying to deadlift or run the treadmill for an hour will discourage you because in your mind you can't do it and want to give up.

Start slow. If you're walking distance to a store, grab a bottle of water and walk there, grab a few items and walk back. You have stairs at work, take those for a few flights instead of an elevator.

As a person who has constantly struggled with her weight and, is a self admitted emotional eater, I can understand what you're going thru. Its tough. Its hard. And you will have a bunch of days where your mind will say 'lets not workout today' but your body will say 'remember those pants you tried on and realized they were a little looser than before' and thats when you do another 20-30min workout. If you want an accountability partner I'll be that for you okay?

Maliah Michele is my end goal. Even tho she's taller than me (i think) and my stomach may never be as flat as hers I was where she was once before and know I could do it again.

I don't because I just want to look like the best me. I feel comparing myself, for me, isn't good. Why would someone roast you for that? Most people don't care.

signed up for a free 7 day gym membership that comes with two personal training sessions.
if i don't decide to go to that gym, at least i'd get the chance to properly learn how to use certain machines.

...might go to that gym though (Anytime Fitness) seems affordable.

How many do you do a day?
I've only been working out every 2 or 3 days (30 minutes a day) because the routine is like 60% calisthenics and 40% jump rope so I am usually sore. So I give myself those days to recover. Once I stop getting so sore I'll eventually get to 4 or 5 days a week but I'm really surprised how well you body has responded so far. I have a FitBit and being able to track my progress has been great too.

I dont know if u ladies recall me making threads about struggling to lose weight in my mid section area and how i barely had a waist line and love handles for days :mjcry:

Well a year later i finally have a smaller waist line :blessed:

And my love handles are disappearing :blessed:

I havent been hitting the gym but ive been eating healthy as hell and become more active. Im going to join a gym later on this month tho so i can continue losing weight and tone up.

This is my goal size for now:

I definitely do with celebrities (or fitness gurus though rarely) but only those that are my size/shape or close to it.

What do y'all eat before you work out? I usually don't eat anything before I work out but I'm trying to break that habit. I feel like I can do so much more if I just eat something beforehand. I don't want to eat anything that will slow me down or mess my body (particularly stomach since that's always my main focus) up when working out. I'm a mess, I know lol.

HIIT workouts are were it's at. Constantly bringing your heart rate up and then down is burning maximum calories. All you need is 30 min a day. When you are doing cardio you are burning calories and as soon as you stop the burning stops. That's why it's vital to lift weights as well. Because when u lift weights your body is constantly burning fat and helps your metabolism as well. I meal prep every Sunday and yes it gets old but the results I'm seeing make me stay with it. I go to the gym every single day. No days off for me I wanna hit that goal!

Because apparently, just trying isn't good enough for people. I guess I don't come off as someone to take seriously anymore.

Anyway, my thighs are screaming. Did 30 minutes on the elliptical yesterday, 4 minutes of the rowing machine and used the remaining 25 or so learning some of the strength machines (leg extender, that curler thingy and the thingy you pull down on… I forget the names). Could only go today for 45, so another 30 on the elliptical and I made it to 7 on the rowing machine (that shyt is so hard).

The pain is only temporary.
