The gameplay in 2k is terrible, it just doesn't resemble actual NBA basketball. The game has so many exploits from baseline shyt, to the fact the AI doesn't follow ACE commands and will literally leave 40% shooters wide open even if you instructed them not to. The court spacing is all fukked up too, the court seems entirely too small for some reason.

Guys don't rotate on defense and half the time when you're running a set your teammates just run into each other or don't get out of your way and the ball handler too.
The brick wall screens are comical, you never see anyone getting leveled in the halfcourt like that, it's usually when someone sets a pick in transition when dudes get crushed, but in 2k you can count on somebody getting murdered by a screen every 3 possessions.
Even Point Guards can get brick wall
only MLB out of the 4 major sports can make a case to 2K. They both are leaps and bounds ahead of EA sports. Facts

No way this game is perfect, but honestly the gameplay is great and it does resemble real life ball if u know how to play the game
In the confines of a league with specific rules, sure, but go into them play online games in the higher tiers and it breaks down something terrible. I watched my friend play in the greatest of all time tier and it was 5 out offense every single time down the court, and just take advantage of the poor defensive AI rotations every single time.

Honestly they really don't have any rules in our league. And if u to talking about ranked matches no sports games will have no exploits. Have 50 people testing games and the next day open the servers to millions. The exploits are gonna come quickly. And yea they have legacy issues but every game has that also.
Plus the ranked matches aren't even played on simulation. They played on arcade on pro settings. But like I said go play any competitive game and u gonna find nikkas who cheesing. Plus your homie might have been trash. If I tried that on nikkaz in our league I would not be scoring at will fam
I enjoy the game bro, at the end of the day its a video game and I think they do a pretty good job with gameplay. Of course I have complaints but I love 2k, I dunno man
Im more concerned with the lack of features in Online Association tbh, thats where the game really lacks

The computer throwing 70 foot passes to a center wide open under the rim after you make a shot. Teammates all crashing to the rim instead of spacing the court on the break. Computer teammates backing up so far on defense that they're standing under the rim off the court itself. shyt that's existed for years.

Nah, he was the one cheesing it up
he had a play in the 5 out offense where whoever was defending his C or PF would leave them depending on which side of the court he drove to after he got the screen at the top of the key. It worked everytime because the corner man who was guarding one of the bigs would rotate to stop the drive, and when the other cat tried to play off ball defense he'd just send whoever that dude was guarding to the rim by holding triangle 
He washed so many people when I was watching him play, he always picked a team with a PF/C that could shoot the three and always knew their releases.
