Keeping teams alive is the biggest con that fans keep falling for. Of course teams are gonna be alive. You have to be Jets level garbage to not be alive. Two weeks ago the whole AFC was in it except for 3 teams. That sounds awesome in practice, but if you're in that in the hunt that late, you're probably not gonna do shyt in the playoffs. It's just that people don't like watching shyt when they think it's a waste of time. It's false hope.I like it. Keeps more teams alive later into the season while making getting a first week bye even more difficult and special.
In football it makes more sense where you see underdog teams make runs. With it being single elimination those teams in the hunt have a chance. Yes some years there will be bullshyt teams slipping in, same is true when each conference only had six teams too. It happens. But there will be at some point a 7 seed that does make a run. If people have a problem with the extra game just don't watch the shyt. But it's crazy to act like no 7 seed will ever have a shot.Keeping teams alive is the biggest con that fans keep falling for. You got teams giving it all they got for a play-in spot that doesn't even count as a playoff spot in the NBA with the goal being the opportunity to get Westside Gunn ad-libbed by the top seed.
Playoffs are special because if you got in you earned that shyt. Otherwise, a league is begging me to not give a fukk about their regular season product.
The realest quote lol!all a money grab for more football
and i'm watching it.... so as much as i voted let's go back.... i am part of the problem![]()
I am still a huge proponent of this, but it cheapens it when everyone can get in (and it's not gonna stop here; they'll look to add more spots). Part of the appeal of the playoffs is relative exclusivity of it. That's going away because these leagues are figuring out that people lack the will in their heads to follow a team through a season but don't wanna get rid of the $$ that comes with those games.Hell you used to be a big proponent of teams getting playoff experience even if it meant losing just to get them that big game experience and teach them what it takes to reach the next level.
