I was contemplating changing my 2 a days and just going around 7:30-8pm every night but you just gave the confirmation I needed. Also (this might seem like a dumb question) but aren't I supposed to give up music as well?

From what I've experienced, it's all in the Suhoor (the meal prior to starting the fast).

Stay away from excessively sugary or salty foods as they only make you thirsty. Foods like yogurt, avocados, beans and leafy vegetables are all great. Don't worry too much about chugging a bunch of water; there's only so much you can hold. It's easier to stay away from foods that will dehydrate you. Hide from the sun as much as you can, if possible. Water retention is the most important thing.

I'm hoping to shift my gym schedule to the last hour of the day before breaking my fast. I know it seems crazy, but you'd be surprised. Get there, do your workout, and when it's time break your fast with some water and a protein bar or something.

If anyone has anything to add regarding diet, routines, etc., please share!

Ever tried casein protein?

I used to play basketball while fasting and it was fine I was dehydrated but your body can survive easily just know your limits and dont over exert yourself

your post reminded me of another GOAT. Brother Hakeem Olajuwon.

He used to play in the NBA while fasting

and he played better!!!! :salute:

not a dumb question at all

there's a lot of discussion and differing opinions

but listening to Music will definitely not break your fast

but many people feel you shouldnt listen or atleast limit it

its tough, i am gonna limit the amount of music I listen to (i listen to music constantly literally, always have headphones listening to something)

I try to do the let's call it 'less holy' stuff at night because if you think about it, all the stuff you cannot do during the day is at least permitted at night (food/drink/sex etc.)

so if I'm gonna do things that I usually restrict in Ramadan, I try to do it at night and just generally be more God conscious during the day

Honestly you just helped me process this immensely. I'm not going to overdo it after 9 or anything like that I just like how you worded it.
