@Tenchi Ryu there's also another interesting side to this:

When we first started talking, that next weekend he had already made plans (before he met me) to go out of state for the weekend. He gets back and he's acting cold, distant, etc

We have a talk about a week later and he's basically saying he wants to slow things down, so I'm thinking he was acting that way because he felt either I was getting too attached or he was but after that talk things were back to normal.

Fast forward to now, he tells me he met the girl during that weekend out of town so now I'm wondering was he acting funny because he found someone else

He also told me I might be the one he gets serious with because the girl lives 2.5 hours away

The only thing turning me off is the lie. I don't care if he's talking to other girls or not but don't lie to me about it

This is like the third time he's told me he dropped everyone for me. The first time was the day he got my number (not that I believed him at the time anyway)

I believed him the second and third time because it was after we had been talking for 1.5 months but then to recently say you are in fact talking to someone else, things ain't adding up.

Honesty cures all here. This a good opportunity to establish early how talking shyt out will be beneficial to both of yall and conflict resolution. Don't try and let him guess the problem, point blank tell him exactly how you feel and why you don't like it. Also be bluntly honestly that its turning you off from him. He might even appreciate it, I would.

Assuming dude not just trying to get his mack on, might have tried to go her way, she rejected him, and now after going the other way she back and got him conflicted. But the lying ain't necessary and only hurting his cause.

I was just joking bout the gas thing...

For real for real, if you feeling someone you'll try even if the distance is in the way. He still weighing options means there's legit things about you he likes and can see being with and it's worth thinking about. But you got every right to let him know his choosing time is limited if you want it to be.

I don't doubt he likes me but I think it's obvious I'm his second choice, if not this wouldn't be that hard a decision. Am I right or am I wrong?

It's probably more equal if you want my honest opinion.

I'd either lie to you to keep you as a side piece, or just drop you pretty damn quick if you were a obvious second choice. And if it was so obvious she's the one, he doing himself zero favors making HER wait too, she could very well be on a fourm typing some shyt right now too. But if he legit stomped on it, it's likely not an easy decision. The reality is that the loser won't involve herself with him anymore, so it's a pretty big choice.

I would still be his friend if he chose her, you can't always be someone's choice
