I agree, its cost efficient, and cuts down on the kids concerned about who wearing what. So it doesn't distract from learning. Cause school is not a fashion show.
I wore uniforms from 1st to 5th grade. Wasn't a big deal to me, though some kids hate it lol.
If the school my child attends doesn't require the wearing of uniforms. I honestly would still inspire them to wear uniforms, like Monday thru Thursday, and on Friday can wear regular clothes of their choice.
What are your thoughts on home schooling, private and public schools?
My neighbor (black woman) and I were talking about this a couple of months ago. We live in an predominately white area and there is hardly any fukks given about what children wear to school. I'm talm bout them payless, walmart hook-ups for real. Although we may not agree with the school's curriculum in terms of it not focusing on African American issues, there is peace in knowing the school is an environment for learning and not a fashion show.
I went to Catholic school 1st-5th so I had to wear a uniform, when moved to public school, I actually hated not wearing a uniform because of the pressures of other kids. For one I was fat and back then "husky" clothing was the WORST, secondly I was kind of poor so while I never wore non name brand shoes, I definitely had the generic Nikes that you find in stores like Ross or TJ Maxx for the low.
The areas I'm looking to purchase a house in have very good public school systems. My daughter will at least finish elementary at a public school. I would love to get her into a private school for middle and perhaps a boarding school for high school. I would love if she could do her Junior and Senior years of high school abroad. Ideally, I would like small group homeschooling using the SETCLAE curriculum.
