If you want it now, you can do a braidout with permrods or a perm rod set.
Or you can just buy you a wig and cut it to look like that.
My wig's curls looks like that, but a different shape and shoulder/collar bone length. It has a natural frizz now and looks real now too since I left it hanging out for a few days instead of putting it in back in it's package like I usually do. I finally wore it out in public and even the people who know me thought it was my real hair. (that's probably bcs it looks like my real hair in a braidout/permrod set).
I thought about getting the style in crochet but I'm going to leave my hair out and in a short style fora few months. I'm going to work on my curl pattern

You have nice cheekbones, so I bet it doesn't look that bad. Wearing large ear rings may help you feel less "bald" or "naked" too.
This girl looks like she used one of those sponges that guys use for their hair. If yours is this short, then maybe you can try that too If you like the way her curls look.
If you change your mind about the wigs, here is the one I have.
This lady has a twa and here is how she blends it with the wig. Or you could use gel and a head band.
If it's too long for you, you can cut it as well. I did.
I cut mine like to this length.
