Odd series - just watching the teams, you get a sense OKC should be winning handily, but no one on OKC is really precise or experienced, and the Pacers are deep and have a chip on their shoulder. I don’t necessarily think gamblers know it all but I am very shocked that OKC is still favored to the extent they are - the Pacers have been underdogs all playoffs and won their series with games to spare, I feel like there is something people are missing with them

OKC is more talented but the pacers are like a pressure fighter who don't let up for a single minute. That shyt is mentally exhausting. It's basically will over skill right now. OKC just getting worn down. But either way I expect this shyt to go 7.

some standouts from the box score
Nesmith/Nembhard combined 6/10, 2/4 from 3 for 15 points
Myles struggled with 9 points, but had 5 blocks
TJ McConnell played 15 minutes and recorded 10 points, 5 steals, 5 assists, and an Offensive Rebound
Mathurin 22 minutes, 9/12 FG, 2/3 3pt, 7/8 FT. Don't expect him to have that same performance but he's always got spark plug potential
Hali 22/11/9. lead the pacers with 17 FGA :obama:
Thomas Bryant had those two fouls and got fukkin yoinked for the rest of the game. 3 minutes

Lu Dort 4/5 3pt
Chet/Jalen/SGA 20/26/24 pts

Indy bench outscored OKC 49 to 18
Game High +/- = Obi Toppin (+18)
Game Low +/- = Alex Caruso (-15)

the big question is can Indy keep this intensity up? having an explosive 40 point 2nd qtr really made up for the slumpy 3rd qtr. Can they do that again? Is OKC's bench gonna come back for next game or will they not show up til OKC is at home again?

I just can't get behind this Pacers team

A championship squad shoundn't look and play as bad as they do on a reguler basis :why:

I also don't hate Shai as much as most since I appreciate his mid ranges and Drives more than all these 3 point chucking bytches that i feel is ruining the NBA.

The Pacers are wining a series that they have trailed the majority of and it feels like this every series..

This trash team winning it all would be a miracle because if they don't steal game ONE IN BOTH THIS SERIES AND THE NYK SERIS AND THEY LOSE EITHER/BOTH.

Can they beat a better team than them 3 series in a row?

Hes not a star hes a role player who had a great game at home we acting like we aint seen that before ?
Not a role player at all. A role player is someone that comes in plays spot minutes. Isiah Joe as an example comes in hits 2 threes does his thing sits most of the game.

Mathurin averaged almost 17 ppg in his rookie season and has been steady ever since. He's a pure scorer. He's actually perfect off the bench because you can give him the ball to make something happen when Pascal or Hali are sitting. He's the other 3rd scorer the Pacers desperately needed. I said it since game 1, Mathurin needed to wake up for Pacers to have a chance.

Indiana matches up evenly if not better than OKC at every position; ppl thinking this was going to be a sweep/backdoor sweep because of analytic cacs on twitter were completely delusional. :mjlol: SGA ability to impact high intensity games, especially in the half court is virtually non-existent if he's not being gifted double digit FTAs; damn near every game he fails to hit that mark he's a net negative on the floor in +/-. If Silver don't make that call to bail him out this series is over, we see what this "all-time" OKC team looks like when the whistles ain't blowing their way and guys like Chet Holmesgren have to step up and take over... :sas2::mjpls:

What’s funny is when Haliburton hit that insane game tying shot against Knicks, i thought it was some weird twist to an existing Knicks path to the finals

I thought the narrative was set for Knicks to reach finals and maybe get a title

Turns out we was in the PACERS timeline all along :whoo:

And their road to a championship is even MORE shocking :wow:
This is really a Cinderella story for Pacers. Should've known when they gutted up the #1 seed (4-1)....albeit an injured and fraudulent #1 seed

I heard numerous people say he could be a star, but his maturity level wasn't that high and Carlisle has issues with him at times. That's why he doesn't start. But I've heard a few NBA heads say he has "it" to be one of those guys. Not making any predictions. Lets just see how he plays from here on out.
It's not his immaturity it's actually the fact he plays with a lot of confidence and that often clashes with coaches when you're a young player. Coaches judge you and try to mould you into something you're not so you resist that. It's called the Lou Williams role. If he can play that off the bench the Pacers might win the ship or at least take it to 7 games.

I wouldn’t put it solely on the coaching but Rick is kicking Daigneault’s ass. Daigneault is just lucky he’s had the talent/personnel advantage

The complete lack of preparation or adjustment to simply inbounding the ball was wild.

Or how they were running good action for Chet off ball/heading down hill in Q1, but then went away from it the rest of the game.
I was worried Rick was gonna outcoach Mark....this is an interesting Finals

Thats a role player hes a lightning in bottle scorer off the bench who provides offense just not consistently which is why hes not a star...Alot of role players artound the league get you 17.....
