Old heads, was '98 DMX as big as '05 Jeezy, '15 Future, or '03 50 Cent?

DMX was going gold in his first week during the time when Britney Spears, NSYNC and BSB were on top, when people actually went to the stores to purchase albums and pop stars were running the game. He was charting...

Jeezy was selling a measly 170k back when the SOUTH was running shyt. T.I. and Luda were selling 300k, 500k, respectively. Jeezy wasn't even the biggest of his region. That nikka was NEVER running shyt. He was NOT touching DMX. AT ALL.
That 2nd album impact was a disappointment though
This. Whenever I think of DMX's hits, I never think of his 2nd album. Despite the commercial success of the 2nd album, it feels like Def Jam dropped the ball when it came to pushing singles & just rode the hype at the time to get the album to mult-plat.

DMX had a good 4-5 year run all his albums are arguably classics till 2003 Grand champ. All 4 albums are solid

Fact. The true sign of how poppin you are is when nikkas riding around playing the album cuts and not just the singles

There are just certain things you experienced in real time or you didn't. And you can't google your way through it. You had to have been there.

50 cent was easily the biggest one
50 wasn’t “easily” the biggest one imma put them both close to the same level. DMX dead ass came thru like a storm and he didn’t even have anyone backing him like 50 had Eminem and Dre. It’s certain guys that took the industry like that and imma say it’s Snoop, DMX, and 50 for the trifecta.

nikka no the fukk he wasnt stop saying this dumb ass shyt. Especially not no fukking T.I. Buzzing in the streets aint no fukking popularity. Tip was damn near an A list celebrity in 05. Jeezy was far from that. nikka said "05 run" its a run if it just run year you dumb goose. Cant believe youre evolved from me SMH.
Jeezy was everywhere my guy. And had the record sales to back it up. Tip was only a gold selling artist with Trap Musik even tho Urban Legend had dropped and was way more successful. Jeezy came thru and damn near reinvented what Trap Musik sounded like. Not saying Jeezy was bigger. But in 05. Son was up there.

50 run was the biggest. nikkas forget 50 was killing the mixtapes and had the biggest buzz and all the labels trying to sign him before the shady deal. That deal just made it go that much crazier. But DMX 98 run was legendary. Jeezy 05 was too.
DMX’s feature run started from 97 and bled into 98. Son was scorching. And he didn’t have backing like 50 did. It was just different. It felt different.

Future been holding it down for damn near 20 yrs now…GOATED

Folks in this thread are really like X had 2 multi platinum #1 albums in a year...like last year wasn't the third time Future did this...in year 12 of his mainstream career. The disrespect these dudes in this topic putting on Pluto's name for these dudes that had like a 4 year runs:wow:

Trap Muzik was platinum in 04. Urban Legend dropped in November of 2004 and went platinum a few months later. You the homie for sure but you lying to live. And yes Jeezy was hot I never said he wasnt. But "on the level the same as T.I." is not true lol.
