That’s easy when one person doesn’t work a full time job.
It’s developing habits. Human behavior. It’s no different than people moving from brick and mortar stores to online shopping. CD’s and DVD’s to streaming service.I’ve never used a delivery service. Grocery stores and restaurants are fairly close by, so maybe it’s less of a chore than it is for most people? I just know that I’ll be damned if I waste money to get cold fast/restaurant food.
It may be important for others, but it’s just laziness for my eating habits.

In before the “I only spend $100/week at the grocery store to feed a family of 4 posts.”
Food costs so much now that as a single person, unless you’re going to sit down restaurants, the cost difference is negligible.
If you have a family, then by all means you need to be going to the grocery store and cooking your own food.
Then u gotta clean that shyt up. And i dont like to talk smack on the next generation. Hell, their shortcomings and failures are a reflection on us, but ive never met a generation moreProblem is, people now work 2 to 3 jobs and work 60+ hours a week, unlike only 40 hours a week from the Baby Boomer generation. Even simple things like cooking a meal is time consuming when you have to report to your 2nd or 3rd job pronto.
i buy my chicken breast at costco, 3 bucks a pound. grab about 22 pounds for 65 bucks and it lasts me a monthA local supermarket has coupon to bring packs of chicken thighs to $0.99 per pound.
I literally bought this less than 2 hours ago.
So you can have probably a week or two of chicken for less than lunch at Chipotle.
Food can be expensive. But it's also true that people put literally zero effort into trying to save money at all.
Thats mainly an alcoholic gang issue.Went to a McDonald's drive-through last Saturday.
Window had a typed up sign on it that said they now offer delivery between 12 AM and 5 AM.
My immediate thought was "Who the fukk is thinking about ordering McDonald's for DELIVERY at 4 AM?"
Then I remembered what country I live in...![]()
A combo meal from McDonald’s is $7 with the app, and most locations are running a $5 meal special, so you can feed three people for at least $15, and at most $21.A combo meal from McDonald's is $15. That's $68 for 4 people after tax.
You're saying you can't make a meal for 4 people under $68?
So do the work.A combo meal from McDonald’s is $7 with the app, and most locations are running a $5 meal special, so you can feed three people for at least $15, and at most $21.
For $21 I could buy three boneless chicken breasts, potatoes, broccoli, and a thing of lemonade. It will be healthier than McDonald’s. But the thing is I have to cook it, have oil to pan sear it, and then wash the dishes afterwards.

So do the work.
yeah if you eat revolting shyt like that you will save a lot of money. duh.I did the math. 2 Uber eats orders = enough groceries to give me 10 days worth of means.
Most people emotionally eat, eat out of boredom or they eat for pleasure. Splurge eating.
If you eat fast food, you will have hunger pains working 2 to 4 hours.
Yesterday, I only ate once and felt fine. I cooked some rice, then threw in a can of tuna and some peas. Then I made a smoothie later on. Didn’t feel hungry for the rest of the day.
