Teams legislated pride away by going all-in on load management. They told their own players it's more important to stay healthy than to compete until the playoffs. That's why you get half assed effort in ASGs now.

When guys signed up for the Olympics there was a bunch of talk about not being able to rest for the summer instead of celebrating playing in the Olympics.

And as I've said before, the NHL has the same schedule as the NBA. Their top players are out there every night unless they're really injured. They do not do rest days and their guys still have long careers.

It's not coincidence a certain someone decided after two decades he wanted to go all 82 with all this chatter about MJ never cheating the fans

NHL has a point system so literally every game matters because you could have more losses than one team but still get points if those losses were in an overtime game therefore pushing you ahead. while the NBA has just wins and losses you get way more lead way with that especially because typically if a team reaches 44-48 wins they are making the playoffs so you get more room for error.

The NHL point system is a joke that simply aims to make bad teams look better than they are to sell "hope" to their fans. There's no real reason why losing in overtime should be rewarded. You still lost and no other sport in America does that.

TBH, that game was lit even if they didn't have the fight. Maybe people tuned in because there was a fight in the beginning but people stayed to watch the game because players were playing like it was a game 7 playoff game. That was PK's point, players played with pride and effort in an exhibition game which is the biggest issue with the NBA All Star game.

The reason the NHL 4 Nations Cup went viral is because of the players fighting, that’s what got ppl to tune in and start talking about it. Then what happened is people start using that to shyt on the NBA

If those fights don’t happen, that shyt doesn’t go viral just like every other thing the NHL does and ESPN doesn’t bring a hockey player who doesn’t even really watch the NBA to compare the two sports

The nhl had the same problem like the nba in regards to all star wise, no one gave a damn the past few years and they tried tinkering with it but no one cared. Which is why they tried this format.
