My beef ain't with someone who says Lebron is second best overall. My beef is when someone acts like it's blasphemy to not have him as the second best player of all time. Lebron has done nothing to separate himself from Kareem, Magic, Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, Bird, Wilt, or Russell. He hasn't dominated his era with titles, with stats, so how is it a lock that he's the second best ever.

Sometimes I feel like in the Twilight Zone. Like when/how did Lebron surpass all these guys.

Its true. A lot of it is based on his MVPs and Kobe could have easily had 2 or 3 more. Seems like the league punished him after the rape scandal.

The 16 Cavs ring is what makes Lebron unique though. He won against an all time great team with almost no help.

Thats something Magic, Shaq, Kobe, Duncan Bird Wilt Kareem and Russell did not do. Its an entirely unique achievement.

Malone has 73 more steals than Lebron. Much like the points lead, it’s highly unlikely that Bron won’t eclipse both of those within the next 2 years. Bron’s career FG% is .504 and Malone’s is .516. Malone’s being so close to him is a knock against Malone. Bron has 2 decades 3 pointers packed into his %. Malone’s career free throw is 74% and Bron is 73%. So, while he does have better numbers, it’s not really worth hanging your hat on.

And Malone doesn’t make it most top 10s because of the lack of rings. Basketball is a team sport and I think we tend to unfairly criticize players for the lack of rings. But you generally don’t get in the conversation without at least 1 and a Finals MVP to go along with it. Would Dirk be in the conversation without 2011?

Kind of a cool thing to think about with that trophy list, is how far can active players climb. LeBron wants to see his son enter The League and take the court with him, which won't be until 2023-24, so he's planning on going 21 years like KG. Realistically its hard to know how many great years he has left after this one, so he has four years left max, and maybe one more elite year left after this one to move up the list...

KD's not playing more than 5 years tops, which puts him at 18 years, and if he can come back from this injury, he's got what, a max of three possible elite years left? Real wild card considering we haven't yet seen his return...

Steph and Kawhi not playing long either, I can see Steph going to maybe 17, which gives him 6 years left. I dont think he's washed, but his best years are probably behind him, so I dont know how much further he rises. Kawhi is the one guy, smack in the middle of his prime, who can really move some shyt on here. He ain't playing more than 16 years total, but that means he still has 7 years left, and right now he has youth on his side. He could really start damaging some shyt and crack up accolades quickly...
