As a user of both the folks that say XBL is better usually say that to justify it's fee.
I absolutely see NO difference in the apps, service or usability. I experience lag on XBL as well as PSN.
Youtube app works the same on XBL as it does on PSN.
Netflix same story. Besides the ESPN thing(which again can be accessed free elsewhere), it's really no advantage to using the XBL service.
I can send messages, voice/video chat on PSN using ANY usb camera/mic.
On XBL I can send voice messages, voice/video chat but ONLY with a Gold subscription AND a proprietary M$ headset/Cam.
Unless I'm missing something, there really isn't much difference between the two besides the look, feel and a few bells and whistles.
It's not expensive for XBL but that's not the point you silly xbots, it's the fact that they charge you for access to free stuff that performs virtually no different than it's free counterparts. If I paid for XBL I shouldn't receive ANY lag on it's flagship titles especially.

Come on man they say this game has dedi's??
I know it's impossible to eliminate EVERY piece of lag across millions of users but sh1t like this happens very often among a great deal of players. It's bewildering to see people bash PSN for uncontrollable lag and then turn a blind eye to the blatant lag on XBL. On PSN lag is because PSN sucks but then on XBL lag is because "you using that fugazi connection"
Until M$ can show me better online performance(ping based matchmaking, dedi's, w/e), exclusive features and not gimmicks like "kinect chat" then they won't change my mind about XBL costs being unnecessary.
I think the reason lots of people just cling to XBL is when XBL launch it was new at the time and wasn't mainstream so charging for it didn't seem out of the ordinary. People made friends online and cherished their GT so switching over to 360 wasn't going to be a big issue for most. People have invested months and years of gaming on a single GT so they'll pay for it just to keep using it is what I sense most players do and feel.

 shyt
but again that's not gauranteed to always be true. Anything can be hacked stop being so gullible. M$ Windows is prone to HEAVY viruses etc so don't act like M$ stuff is untouchable.

. developers have options how to utilize it though

You clearly didn't play UC2/Uc3, Killzone 2/3 or any other Ps3 game online multiplat or not. The only game I think you've really played online on PS3 is BF3 which people surprisingly don't use mics on. I've had some crazy gaming sessions online playing Uncharted and Killzone. It's the same now people hardly ever talk on XBL unless you in a party. For the gamers who get online with their friends all at the same time they're alienating themselves from others under the guise of being in a local community.

Out of the hacks hardly anybody had severe issues that fukked them over. EVEN if worse case scenario they did get their shyt taken, the bank would've rectified the shyt immediately. You acting as if nikkas who hacked PSN done bought benz's and Mercedes Coupe's off of nikkas CC. Hell people get their info stolen everyday so this isn't relegated only to PSN let's not be silly now.
