He was up there talent wise. For my money, I think Chris Paul is pound for pound the most talented PG I've ever seen. He was impossible to stay in front of before the knee injuries. Basically the PG you'd create in a lab.

The only thing holding him back was himself in terms of looking for his own shot.

I'll buy the JKidd argument. I still think Penny was more talented, but I wont trip if you say Kidd. :manny: I think both Kidd and Penny are a tier above Steph talent wise.

You're buggin with Steph. Dudes a 1 trick pony. He's a scorer/shooter, and thats where it ends.
Jason Kidd was a great fastbreak passer like Magic and a great defensive point guard and a great leader. His offense was weak inefficient as hell limited halfcourt scorer.

In terms of talent I don't think he's more talented than guys like Marbury, Francis, Baron Davis in his own era.

Steph Curry mastered the two most essential talents a basketball player needs shooting and ball handling and he's an underrated passer with flair whatever he lacks as a passer or floor general he makes up with his shooting, ball handling, off-ball ability. Steph is a willing screener as a point like Stockton was and is as good off the ball as Reggie Miller. It's why his impact on the game is so huge on top of the fact he can stretch a defense out to 30 feet a PG's impact shouldn't be measured by assists per game.

It says most talented PG ever.

Talk to me about Magic's ball handling, triple threat and footwork, jumpshooting, athleticism, defense.

Magic isn't the most talented point guard ever he's the most physically gifted and he's the best passer and had the best teams.

My guy at 6’9 just to do what he did takes talent lol y’all forgetting this dude was damn near 7 feet playing real PG basketball that’s talent in itself. Name another 6’9 guy that can do wag Magic can. I’ve seen A million quick guards,a million guards with insane speed/bounce,seen a bunch of guards with an ill handle. Never seen another 6’9 guy play that point like Magic

That's facts. CP3 had it all. The speed, great strength for his size, the handle, the floaters, the midrange game, the footwork, the passing, pitbull defense and a beast in the passing lanes, clutch, tough, leader.

The only thing that holds him back is his size.

one of the most talented, yeah. was nothing he couldn't do within seventeen feet. but he did use his size and athletic advantage to create seperation in ways that smaller PGs could not do. so I'd say Clippers Paul and Curry are more skilled. Penny could've gotten there maybe but who knows.

i don't think you know what one trick pony means if you think steph is that. he is the most versatile offensive PG of all time.

I felt Penny was overhyped back in the day.:yeshrug:

He did have some huge playoff moments, but yall are gassing up his PG skills.

I respect your opinion, but you put Steph Curry on another team not littered with greatness all around him, and I think his game takes a few steps down.

this is a real basketball thread because its true

overall ability as far as a complete game ... magic is up there... rose was up there but very young and short reign

I honestly always said Baron Davis was the most well rounded PG ... he can shoot but unlike most shorter guards he was banging on cats all the time

Penny is that but better honestly...besides Magic you're probably right. Ignore all these late basketball watching clowns, they dont even understand the statement you made. As far as most well rounded he is undeniable ... he could shoot, bang on cats, handle, A+ vision, all that... no holes in that game. Most cats dont have ALL assets at the same time

AI and Steph are SGs no matter how much yall try to make them pure point guards
Steph hardly brings the ball up court and the offense runs through the forwards at the top of the key
I dont see how its even a debate... Kerr puts Klay and Steph off ball where they are most dangerous
you're better off just playing sides with them instead of chasing them around, but then they cut to the top of the key with the center or forward and just shoot from behind him anyways

Imagine trying to guard a 6'7 dude whos long and fast with a jumper that actually plays Pure Point

lol at dude saying magic wasnt a great ballhander jesus christ my guy
