From what I've read, he did the beats but Khrysis was the one in the studio with them putting the songs together.
WELL THE BEAT IS HALF THE SONG.

Stop itThis. Sleepers is great but Phonte and Pooh isn't Jordan and Pippen, it's Jordan and Kerr.
Side deals kill your reputation.9th was getting paid though, lol.
Dude said he built a whole studio and started a label from funds he got from those albums, and thanked the fans. The Listening is a classic though. I copped that immediately after it dropped, and have a few copies on vinyl too. That's how much I love that album. But it seems like 9th was working privately with ABB to cut Pooh and Phonte out of bread, and that's never cool. So it's a shame they couldn't keep working together and building on that legacy. LB was a breath of fresh air for Hip Hop. Money really did them in. It's fukked up.
Wasnt Getback on ABB? Why would they do another album with them if they hadn't gotten paid for the first 2 albums?

I'd also like to know. He's not burned any significant bridges I know of.
They had a three album deal with ABB. They got the masters for Getback tho
But based on the article @Easy-E linked they don't eem want the money they're owed, they just want the masters. Sounds like a lose-lose for Beni B, from what Tay and Pooh are saying the amount owed is too high for him to repay AND if they get rights back he aint gone be able to make bread off the Listening masters/Minstrel Show vinyls![]()

You didn’t like the new album? Still in rotation for me.Their best work were with 9th or around the that era
The Minstrel Show best beat was Lovin It
I’m probably one of the biggest Justus League fans on here got all their music and thoroughly listen to all their shyt and I gotta say LB music Get Back and beyond is average as fukk. They need dope production seriously, I’m sad they don’t see any money off their first two albums. Those early Justus League tracks from Median to Joe Scudda really helped me when I was battling depression on sum real shyt. I don’t have to stream their music as I own all of it plus the NC mixtapes.
This. Sleepers is great but Phonte and Pooh isn't Jordan and Pippen, it's Jordan and Kerr.
I remember this. I believe it was some BET concert where they got 0 reception basically said "we don't suck, the crowd does"![]()

More like Chris Webber and Vlade Divac. Phonte is not Jordan.

Funny enough; that's why Jay-Z became president of Def Jam. He was owed too much money, so they gave him the job.
Its absurdTall talk from a Lupe stan.
Honestly I feel like many of us were all in the same place in the early to mid 00s and it's just a matter of which path did you explore. Most of us took the Kanye path, which may have led you directly to Mos/Common/Kweli, and/or Lupe. Some of us explored all that and also found Little Brother, Dilated Peoples, etc. Your boy was def bumping Akrobatic's Remind My Soul in front of 50 Cent stans trying to teach them knowledge of self.
Looking back a lot of that shyt was corny but Little Brother stands the test of time because they were never preachy. All that "I'm trying to be conscious but I just got my dikked sucked" lyrical shyt J Cole has been struggling trying to pull off...Phonte did that shyt effortlessly. I remember taking this as a personal attack and then realizing all that righteousness shyt was corny.
LB got classics and deserves respect.
