There aren't that many hoopties in the world, and spending more to get a decent reliable car saves you money/aggravation.

If your home is worth 50k and you buy a car worth 25k you don't have a hooptie. :what:

The problem is if you have a house worth 50k and then you go out and buy a 45k car...that's not sound economics. The maintainance will cost more, the insurance will cost more, chances of it being stolen will be more (which then raises your insurance again).

Why are ya'll thinking that a car under 30k is somehow a hooptie? :dahell:

The house
Cars as a whole weigh to fukking much. I get all the accessories and options add weight but come on. The Lexus LC is a small sized coupe with a back seat that's practically unusable but weighs as much as a Dodge Charger SRT :mindblown:

The weight increase is mainly due improve crash test ratings and safety equipment. Also with a stiffer frame structure you get much better driving dynamics because you have a lot less chassis flex. I think that is the reason why most cars feel decent to drive where in back in the day you can feel the chassis flex during hard corning.

Dodge/Chrysler is :trash:

Especially those money pit Challengers and Chargers, a dude I know had to drop a new transmission in his challenger after 3 years

Lexus is the GOAT luxury brand(based on reliability alone)

Buick is extremely underrated

Chevy is starting to come back up again

I hear a lot of people saying this, but I bought my challenger new in 2012 and and haven't had one problem besides regular maintenance.

Word? Maybe I'm just a little harsh on Chrysler/Dodge. Almost everyone I know who has had one..stupid electrical or transmission problems.

My girl has a Sebring convertible, she had her top down and it started raining, couldn't bring it back up(some mechanism and fuse had busted) and her car smelled like moldy rain for the next week or so

Only Chrysler I've liked in the last couple years was the 200, I always thought the 300 looked like trash

I think cats know one or two people who have issues with their car and put that on the whole brand. In most cases they probably don't know if the person is taking good care of their car and or if they got that car used/salvaged with problems already. It's a case by case basis the majority of the time but people in general are lazy and use the quickest way to come to a decision most times.

Everywhere...You never there.
dont buy dodge chargers or challengers, look nice but poorly made. I bought a 2012 charger when they first came out...its paid off but im at 12 factory recalls and counting. and its not petty shyt...abs braking system fails enroute, glass in airbags shyt that can kill u

People are still buying these shyts, too ... :mindblown:

No point in buying a car that cost more than $10K

10 to 13 (maybe as much as 15) is the sweet spot. Car is probably one of the worst "assets" to attain.

It's not... you buy a 6/7 figure car and that's money that could be put elsewhere

Nothing wrong with being liquid and leasing a car ...
I'm not not convinced with the whole leasing over buying argument. How does leasing allow you to be liquid when owning also does since you have equity in the car. I don't think liquid is the right term because regardless you going to have a car note whether you lease or buy.
