Hip-hop is its own force now. It took a minute. And that’s why Jay has to succeed. Our entities have to succeed. Baby and Lil Wayne ain’t supposed to be fighting. That’s supposed to be where cooler minds sit down and say, “Check this out fellas: for all of us, stop. ’Cause we said so. Everybody’s gonna calm down.” Rap ain’t gonna be a ghost town. Nobody’s gonna shoot nobody.
Damn, NOBODY wanna see them too beefing with each other :wow:

This is Prince....it's worth reading..
They don't get it, interviewing Prince is the equivalent of getting time with Michael Jackson or Howard Hughes, Lou Reed, Grace Jones.

You have to play by their rules of the universe if you wish to interact with them. These are figures that make the entertainment world interesting, it is rare to see someone like this be able to reach this many publications & still be notoriously difficult for content. Usually at this stage, people start going on Rachael Ray and start cooking to plug something....... Prince is a quandary, he can veer into that world but it still is surreal like looking at Orson Wells on your tv screen trying to promote something..:leostare:

dude is kinda crazy about anything not related to music
I think that has to do with being cut from the rest of the world for 35 years. His outlet is the keyhole of newspapers,tv,films & the internet. It can't be healthy for that to be your life 24-7. He's as recognized as anyone currently new & fresh as a celebrity. People get that same stare as you would from Michael Jordan or both Justins. :banderas:

should not have pulled it...but Prince is a private person..he prolly r-read it like "im giving too much away"
I believe he felt betrayed because it looks like it wasn't from memory. Prince is infamous for his attitude toward feelings of betrayal. Some say that The Time reunion was sabotaged because of unsettled disputes. This is why he forced the band come out under "The Original 7" name instead of the name they were famous for:merchant: There's the whole Kevin Smith saga where he spent an ENTIRE week with Prince filming endless hours of footage that no one used for anything. That was cringe worthy listening to Kevin be so goddamn confused, with mentions of "hey, let's not swear, I told you how I feel about that,Kevin" shyt is really close to Willy Wonka and Howard Hughes if they were one person. :mjlol:

What's funny is Rick James felt the exact same way about Prince.

But the difference is that Rick James was actually competing with a equally or more talented peer in Prince for prominence as the top dog in R&B/Funk during the height of both artists careers while Young Thug in reality is a relative nobody within the hip hop landscape who can't even move 50,000 units.

My favorite part of the interview:

EBONY: “America” is my favorite Prince 12-inch, an extended version over 20 minutes long. Those 1980s Prince singles weren’t remixes.

Prince: It blew my mind too. I brought them “I Hate U” and I thought it was one of the greatest records I had ever done in years. And they said, “Yeah man, this is dope. Now we gonna have Puffy do the remix.” Like, I was in shock. “OK, I’m out.”
