Most men have to fight to get hoint custody with no child support (because they usually make more than the woman so the court will still give her something) not for joint custody itself. Fax my brother cousin and one of my close friends recently got divorced and they all have either 50/50 or 60/40

GOt a friend of mine who is going through a messy ass divorce ATM with his wife of 13 years (been together for 17). 3 kids all under 10 in the mix.

Now hes from the East Coast originally (we live on the West Coast) and wifey and her family are from here and HATE him and has shown no intent to be amicable so far. Outside of his wife and kids, breh has no real attachments up here (his job aint that great either ).

IM telling mans that the second the divorce is finalized and once his youngest daughter (an infant) is old enough to sit on a plane, he needs to GTFOH and just be a summer custody parent.

No point in seeing the kids every other weeekend in a rushed fashion and with no help from the other parent. Might as well get them for a summer all to yourself. He kinda agrees but obviously he wants to be as geographically close as possible.

Whats the best philosophy on this? Does it just depend on the relationship between the 2 parents?

Since he was married he'll actually get real chance at having custody. It may take years of court battles but it's a real possibility, at the very least he can get half custody or something that's way more than just weekend visits.

99% of men not built like you. They won’t even fight for shared custody because truthfully they don’t want to be tied down by their kids.

So they rather just get their kid 1-2x a month or a few weeks a year, and complain about the child support they have to pay.

A weekend or summer dad don't got no joint custody, he basically a babysitter who gotta pay to babysit. Like I said I know plenty of men who have custody of they kidd. The American court system has made it tradition for joint custody to be pro-mom having either a 5/2 day split or for a 3/1 season split.
