Anyone watching Cavs games? How has Garland looked? His numbers look pretty bad but Trae sttarted awful last year too. Is he showing anything? I always thought it was crazy how he rose up the draft boards after like five college games against trash comp.
I haven't watched a lot FULL Cavs games but I have seen enough to formulate an opinion of him. Basically his game is really pretty and polished, he has a ridiculously good handle, his jumper when it goes in is nothing but net, and he's very under control. He's a phenom in terms of guard skills.
But when he's off, he's just off, dude just can't hit shyt on certain days, and his size makes him a target on defense, and it's made worse by the fact that he's playing alongside another guard whose just as small as he is. He's also not very aggressive, when he's on a roll he'll keep it going but he's not the type of player that tries to make himself get going, he'll just defer to Colin and hide in a corner.
He's a guy that I understand why there's draft hype for, but he got drafted entirely too high, and while he's an extremely skilled player I'm not convinced he has the mentality to be an all-star. If you did the fusion dance on Colin and Garland you'd have probably the GOAT point guard, cuz Colin has the mentality but not the skill, and Darius has the skill but not the mentality.
