Anyone watching Cavs games? How has Garland looked? His numbers look pretty bad but Trae started awful last year too. Is he showing anything? I always thought it was crazy how he rose up the draft boards after like five college games against trash comp.

His hype was ridiculous. It made no sense either.

I haven't watched a lot FULL Cavs games but I have seen enough to formulate an opinion of him. Basically his game is really pretty and polished, he has a ridiculously good handle, his jumper when it goes in is nothing but net, and he's very under control. He's a phenom in terms of guard skills.

But when he's off, he's just off, dude just can't hit shyt on certain days, and his size makes him a target on defense, and it's made worse by the fact that he's playing alongside another guard whose just as small as he is. He's also not very aggressive, when he's on a roll he'll keep it going but he's not the type of player that tries to make himself get going, he'll just defer to Colin and hide in a corner.

He's a guy that I understand why there's draft hype for, but he got drafted entirely too high, and while he's an extremely skilled player I'm not convinced he has the mentality to be an all-star. If you did the fusion dance on Colin and Garland you'd have probably the GOAT point guard, cuz Colin has the mentality but not the skill, and Darius has the skill but not the mentality. :dead:

Haven’t watched many games but from what I’ve seen his shot is streaky and he isn’t strong enough at the rim yet. Granted he’s a rookie and his skills will come but yea I remember people were legit debating if he or Morant was the best guard even tho he barely did anything at Vanderbilt. I also don’t understand why Cleveland picked him when Sexton is there. That was a pure best available guy pick instead of going with a need

Coincidentally he wasn't the best player available either. Most mocks had them drafting a wing, which would've made much more sense. I won't mention Rui because I don't think anyone really had him being as good as he's been, but one of Hunter or Culver would've been better picks. (actually I just remembered that Hunter got drafted at 4 so Culver would've been a better pick.)

Andrew Bynum would be a most interesting podcast guest.

Only 418 games played but an All-Star (2012), a 2-time Champion. Drafted by the Lakers, mentored by Kareem.

Traded at the end of his all-star season for Dwight Howard, due to Free Agency and knee concerns.

Been out the league 5 years and still only 32. Earned $70M for his career.

Played alongside Kobe, Odom, Artest, Gasol. Coached by Phil Jackson.

One of the last traditional back-to-the-basket big men.

Would be a great get for Knuckleheads. He has to have some stories.
