He used to balance smart intelligent word play with a looser more straight forward style.

Now every song he is trying to do too much....every line is stuffed with forced metaphors and double/triple entendres. It's exhausting. He turned into Canibus. It might be impressive on a technical level but it's not enjoyable to listen to. It's self-indulgent.

Lupe doesn't really belong in that group but he does over do it in trying to sound complex. It comes off a lot of the times as sounding way too forced.

I agree with this. Lupe has range and can make songs. But just listening to his last like 4 or 5 projects, he's def fine just going super Lupe lyrical over most other waves.

I prefer Medium Lupe Raps over Super Lupe Raps honestly, felt that way for years.
