This is a dumb take. NONE of these rappers be saying anything, unless they're telling a story. They just be stringing words and phrases together...just to say how thorough/live they are. It's not like the verses make a coherent statement. Using big words does not make you lyrical miracle, and using simpler words doesn't make you better at your craft. Ransom is one that could be classified as such, but he just talks street ish with it. Hell, so can Conway & 38Spesh.

So it really comes down to your preference or is the music digestible enough. What happened is that the basic ish became so much of the forefront, that the rappers that actually try to say it differently are "wack". That's corny. Basically, the listeners got dumber so anything that remotely sounds complex...whether it is or not...is wack.

I turned it off after 45 seconds. What “lyrical” rappers are looking down on Ransom for being a street artist? Ransom is the one looking down on and judging everybody else right now.

So many fake narratives in hip hop shyt is annoying…

Lupe is both at the same time. Like. He has the ability to tone it down and make a crossover hit. But he CHOOSES to be lyrical miracle. I think that’s what cats saying in this thread.

I must have a different definition of a lyrical miracles Because in my mind a nikka that can’t switch up and strictly lives on his bars is lyrical miracle . The fact that Lupe can
Switch up takes him out of that category for me

Straight out the fukkin' dungeons of rap
Lupe is lyrical miracle? How?

lyrical miracle is those rappers that force multis and big words to make them sound smart but when you breakdown their bars they really don’t be saying shyt. That ain’t Lupe at all. Guys like Atmosphere and Aesop Rock
Atmosphere is not lyrical miracle either

The fact that nobody can even agree on wtf "lyrical miracle" even means should let you know how useless the term is.

To me, it was always just another label used to shyt on underground rappers who have the audacity to think you should display some skills when rhyming if you're going to pick up a microphone. No different than why the term "backpack rap" became a perjorative.

The very first shyt he came out of his mouth with was that he has a perception that "lyrical miracle" rappers look down on people who talk about street shyt.

And that's because the majority of the cats talking about "lyrical miracle" rappers can't compete LYRICALLY, so they lean on other smoke and mirror shyt, which is usually street personas or gimmicks.

As if your pen game can't be nasty with wordplay, complex rhyme schemes, AND still be talking about street shyt.

It's like none of these n*ggas ever heard a Kool G Rap or Smoothe Da Hustler verse before.

Not at all what it means. Lupe is a great poster child for that. It means you are great at rhyming words to the point that you don’t care about no other part of the song. You doing super complex rhyme schemes and all that shyt but it’s not adding to the song.
Another example was canibus, he could rap all day but couldn’t make a good song to save his life. It’s like you only understand one part of being an artist.

Bur then you have guys like Eminem and Kendrick who are lyrical miracle but can make good songs too. It’s not a bad thing but a lot of them dudes be putting too much infasis on that part and not enough on the rest of the song.
We can't just move past this breh. :comeon:

lu later work got nikkas confused

he has fallen into the lyrical myrical lane

but he can give nuanced street shyte too

really he can take it basically any direction

but like i said he put himself in that corny lyrical myrical lane with the direction he chose for his work

Aesop is god tier to Lupe :francis:

i don't like that Lupe got pigeon holed into that label..

He did it to himself :francis:

I dont think Lupe is lyrical miracle personally though, but he does have tendencies with it
