You should probably listen to her music before making such ignorant statements. H.E.R. is a way better singer than Mary J (especially live), and lightyears more talented, overall (instruments, songwriting, etc.).
It’s ignorant to say that an icon should be ranked higher than someone who doesn’t even have a proper album yet? Someone who been on the scene for like two years?

H.E.R and Toni over Aaliyah,Mary is a damn travesty.
Brandy has to go right up under Whitney, what diversity has Mariah shown in comparison to Brandy? and vocally Brandy is above everybody else on this list so far.
Can Mariah make a man cry with the vocals:henbron:
You think Aaliyah is a better singer and career over Toni Braxton :mjlol:

Y'all rate Mary high because of childhood nostalgia from the 90s. Outside of having a naturally rich vocal timbre, Mary is not a particularly skilled singer, and doesn't really possess other talents either

I'mma give her a 7.

I love Brandy since I was in school and matter of fact my younger sister had the self titled debut that I secretly played one day when she was at her friends house....

I Wanna Be Down is my favorite song of hers particularly the remix with Yo-Yo, MC Lyte & Queen Latifah :banderas: classic song imo especially the video....

Brandy vocally is a 9, all things considered. You could argue for a 10. Her success just did not last long. In the 1990's when she dropped, it was her and Mariah dominating the charts. Never say Never is her only GREAT album. Her debut is my favorite but Never Say Never dominated commercially. Her prime was so short. After her 1st 2 albums, she fell off HARD. No prolonged success at all so you could say she underachieved. I don't blame her for chasing that acting bag though. She was successful in Moesha as an actress.

Kill yoself

Kill yourself for not even understanding the criteria of the thread:mjlol:

Better singer no,but definitely a better career by a landslide. Protege to multiple goats, was able to change with the sound and still make hit, showing song flexibility(one of the criterias you didn't read). Did Toni stand the test of time in comparison, catalogue or otherwise compared to Aaliyah lol. Yes Aaliyah is higher than Toni without question:gucci:

Hold on,so Full Moon isn't a great album? that came out in the early 2000's. Her life expectancy was better than average among her peers. Then if you want you can count the fact she still made a hit with Chris Brown ("Put It Down") in the late 2010's,along with that collabo with Monica(It All Belongs to Me) and vocally she didn't fall off like many singers do.

Has nothing to do with childhood nostalgia. She has hits, classic albums, longevity, and was a legitimate game changer more than anyone else on that list

nikka you might wanna check Toni Braxton’s stats. Check her record sales and hits for her first three albums compared to Aaliyah’s
:francis:

Go check Toni’s billboard then look at Aaliyah :francis:

I swear the Aaliyah overrating is crazy

She has hit records and albums, but you're completely ignoring the other criteria, such as: Vocal quality, Vocal control, Vocal technique, Live singing vs CD singing, Musicianship (Can they play instruments).
