Not sure about Keke but Jazmine is very versatile as vocalist. She just doesn't have the stage like Bey to showcase it. Pound for pound, Jazmine is just as good or even better than Beyonce as a vocalist real talk. Beyonce being a soprano and being able to sing higher is her only edge on Jaz. I heard Jazmine scat on the end of a jazz standard like 'Round Midnight that would put Bey in her place quick!

‘Pound for pound, Jazmine is just as good or even better than Beyonce as a vocalist real talk.’ -

Outside of Jazmine having better musicality and wit with her riffs/runs (although she can be a bit obsessive with the downward arpeggio runs) and a solid lower register.. beyonce is still more rounded with her belting/mix voice and her head voice ..not to mention her affinity for dynamics like messi di voce and sforzando that she uses a lot in her ballads and Jazmine doesn’t venture in those arenas

“Beyonce being a soprano and being able to sing higher is her only edge on Jaz.” - Both beyonce and jazmine are mezzos, though.. beyonce just has a higher tessitura, so she has a high extension and has great soprano notes, despite her actual actual voice being lower on the scale

‘I heard Jazmine scat on the end of a jazz standard like 'Round Midnight that would put Bey in her place quick’ - I know EXACTLY what u talkin bout, breh.. she so cold! however her jazz/minor chord stylings is a part of signature and isn’t outside of her soul/jazz/gospel background, whereas Beyonce would go from gospel squalling, to bel canto (operatic) staccatto head note flourishes, to a rap-sung hook dripped in southern drawl with a few jazz licks here and there in her riffs all in a 2 hour set.. u just don’t see stuff like that ..mainstream and underground included

The Midwest
But Lemonade was cohesive and themed and yet it came and went and still fell short.
The album was themed in femininity and women empowerment but that was the only difference in this album than Beyonce's other Albums.
Someone different handled the production and writing of each track.

I thought Beyonce wrote this album or atleast majority of it, no? It seemed a very personal album.

Very seldom do I disagree with you but I have to today. None of the women you mentioned are better vocalists than Bey.

Fantasia is merely a power singer as is Jennifer Hudson. That's the point type of singing they can do. But I will admit Fantasias new song Enough is a banger.

I've never been impressed with Leona Lewis. She's always been an average singer to me:hamster:

Leona’s voice is a huff of air and she’s always going off the center of pitch.. like damn bytch u can’t hesr yourself going flat.. She has nice falsetto and a pretty tone, but thassit. her riffs has always been laboured and cluncky too. Fantasia is a way better soul/gospel singer, but outside of that Beyonce has more to work with..

ppl saying Gladys Knight and Jill Scott better singers than Beyonce? as if they can do half the shyt Beyonce doin in all these videos being included.

Don’t get me wrong, breh I do too
Beyonce could never ‘capture’ me like Jazmine does here

I’ve never hear beyonce interpolate a melody at that level.. like how the hell did Jazmine even hear that shyt in her head. she resolving those chord progressions even b4 her piano accompliment. the woman cold cold cold!!

this rate is simply a vocal accessment ..has nothing to do with my actual opinion/tastes

I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan but a fan nonetheless. The majority of her standout tracks with great vocals are on her first album; Speechless and Me, Myself, and I, and Signs. Where she falls short imo is the lack of original songs that show off range, soul, and just an overall vocal performance. She's still a great singer though and half of the superior singers can't do what she can to a song which solidifies her spot amongst the greats.

You don’t think 4 is her best vocal album? idunno what she was trying to prove in 2011, but she was going off vocally the entire album damn near.. Love on Top alone is a piece of work to get through, live.. even Keke strained a little in her cover of that, and she’s a true soprano

If you asked most people what part of a great singer they wish they had, most would say their voice. But me, I'd say their ears. Jazmine, just like Darrell Walls can just hear melodies and progressions in her head while singing. Jazmine usually leaves me speechless every time I hear her live. Have me like:mindblown: how do you hear those notes in your head and then cohesively put them together with perfect timing and syncopation?! Leaves me baffled every time

Also I tend to evaluate vocalists according to the difficulty of the songs they are able to produce. Beyoncé has good range, but hell I could sing just about any song she's ever made.

Listen, I Care, Love On Top, Speechless, Dangerously In Love, MyMyself&I, Halo,
Ave maria, etc would like a word

Even songs like Drunk in Love and Countdown are challenging because of the pace and belting involved

Theres Flawless...sounds simple enough...but she produced the operatic vocals in the background as well

Keke Wyatt struggled to w/ Love On Top. The modulations and pace in addition to the transitions are no joke

To say what she does is easy would be disengenious if you study music...singers with her range, control, agility and power dont just grow on trees

Lol! Alls imma say is ask Beyonce to sing a Leona Lewis cover of "Run" and do 29 note riffs in one of the highest head voices in about 3 seconds and see what happens.:hubie:Vocal analysts are baffled by that shyt. It's the equivalent of being able to pack insane amounts of notes at the highest vocal registry and it makes her voice sound like bells ringing---like vocal hummingbird wings.
start at 4:00

Jennifer Hudson literally outsang Bey in a Dreamgirls. And anybody who says Keke Wyatt's voice is average or thinks Beyonce can even go there...

Hell just the first 3 seconds into that video beat anything Beyonce has done.

We'll just shake hands, nod and agree to disagree on this one. Beyonce's range, clarity, technical voice quality ain't no where near them. But she's a great singer and an icon and has worked hard to improve her voice throughout the years.:hubie:

Jazmine deserves better

The fact she is so overlooked is criminal
