Ask @Art Barr bout that clusterfukk of a site

The alternate underground racist site that pretty much perpetrated why racism is in underground rap.
Plus, why the quality in rap is so distincly low in every facet of every subgenre of rap as well.

Natural elements had nothing to do with that whole movement...that would be like mentioning l da headtoucha, smooth the hustler, b1, half a mil, godfather don etc...completely different styles and far better mcing

This thread is a great reminder of how much was really lost in translation in hip hop from 1998 to 2002.

The change from analog to digital
the change from cd to mp3
the change from vhs to dvd
the change from 20th to 21st century

I realize alot of this is new and unfamiliar for the younger heads.

Btw i gotta agree with @SirBiatch that this might of been the death of underground hip hop because of the nerd backpacker elitist associations.

From 2000-2003 an epic onslaught of nerdy pretentious elitist white rappers came out of the woodwork and managed to take hip-hop into some of it's worst years ever...

I'm talking about
Sage Francis
Dose One
Anticon
Deep Puddle Dynamics
clouddead
Aesop Rock
MC Paul Barman
Hot Karl

And many others.

I tried listening to their stuff again a couple of weeks ago and just could not do it....

:snoop:

Jel from anticon is up there with DJ premier, diamond d, and daft punk when it comes to chopping samples . My boy knows him and asked him why he was making beats for those chumps, Jel knew the deal but couldn't say anything

You should watch Jel making beats on YouTube

Eh I disagree, Hell's Winter was objectively his best work, but he had good tracks off his other releases as well (Escape to 88, Agent Orange, I Never Knew You, Nothing Left to Say), and even if you weren't feeling the experimental vibe of his later work, that Leak Bros tape he did with Tame One was still fire from a pure Hip-Hop perspective. You're entitled to your opinion though.

fair enough :ehh:
