Rhymesayers is still around putting out the same music....there's a reason they are still around and the others aren't.

Only rapper in that crew of people you mentioned I thought we actually dope was slug.

He was talented and also a little more traditional and not as pretentious and trying to be different for the sake of being different like the rappers you mentioned

That anticon shyt was the worst imo. So soulless and pretentious I couldn't get into it but There was a lot of dope underground shyt in the late 90's to early 2000's. I discovered all that shyt from sites like ughh that I never knew existed until I got a computer. A lot of music then that wasn't nearly as pretentious as the ones you mentioned but for whatever reason as I got older then underground shyt I loved I couldn't get into anymore for whatever reason.

I forget the site, it was like hip-hop universe or galaxy or something, but around 2003, they straight up made a list of the hottest MCs in the game and Sage Francis was number one...
:dead:

That was hiphop infinity in like 2001 I think . That site was run by Jay Seagraves or some shyt the most pretentious elitist fan of that anticon and alt rap garbage

The thing I remember from that site is the dude from cannibal of beefing with some big white dude and then they met up at a show and the dude from can ox got destroyed. I think he literally got his jaw broke

Honestly, I never got into that whole movement...Sage, El-P, Sole, Aesop...etc. They created their own lane, but apart from a few songs, that shyt just seemed too abstract and on that "you don't understand how deep and cool we are". Everybody was raving about dope beats, to me that shyt was not banging. At all.

Only cats that have grown on me were Copywrite and Cage (before the emo shyt), the rest is just boring to me.
