Ps5 launched at $399 digital and $499 for the disc drive. They currently sell for $499 and $549, and thats with revisions to cut down development cost.


Trump's economy fukked everything up. If Sony's digital console is selling for a profit, its probably because the price went up $100 since launch.

The link shows that the standard's been profitable since 2021 before the price hike. Pretty confident the digital wasn't too far behind as well. Even if not on the digital before this year's hike, it wasn't some major lost like year's pasts.

Im sure they were profitable at some point.

It's a new economy, they dont just increase prices as manufacturing cost goes down. They literally said the tariffs were behind the last price increase.

You're going to pay one year's worth of gamepass to play one game? The pattern seems to be people paying when there are a number of games they want to play and not reupping after that. The audience in this thread prefer owning the games while gamepass appeals to gamers who are not bothered by renting games.
