Breh, u and I both know this, but Im telling u what they think of themselves. They pride themselves on being, as I said in my first post, a "bastion of higher ed."

Also, not sure why they would leave the conference they built. UNC and UVA along with the rest of the Carolina schools are the core members. UNC and UVA are big dogs in the ACC and i have a difficult time seeing them go to the SEC to be on the bottom half of the totem pole. Now Clemson, GTech, FSU and NC State may jump at the opportunity to be in the SEC.

Politically here in NC, I dont think Carolina would be able to leave the ACC without State. However, I do believe State could leave the ACC without UNC. So its really a non-starter with UNC.

nikka stfu....UNC dont pride itself on shyt. The school that has a higher standard of education in NC is fukking Duke. Duke requires their players to be admitted to the school before accepting their scholarship. Quit tryna boost up chapel hill. Half the team is majoring in bullshyt majors like interdisciplinary studies. FOH

N!gga are u dense? I aint tryna boost UNC. I went to ECU and NCCU Law. I gives a fukk about Carolina. Im telling u about how they view themselves not how the really are. IMO they are no different than Tennessee or UF or UGA. But they view themselves differently and thats what matters.

Yep. Which is why Texas won't join the SEC. From what I've read on many Texas boards, the faculty and admins are against the SEC because of that and are in love with the Big 10 and Pac 12. Also, UNC will never leave the ACC. Especially while Duke and NC State are existing.
What do you mean they existing? :ohhh:

NC state is part of the UNC system. If you want to use a great example of two universities attached to the hip, this is the one. Also from a business partner perspective, I doubt UNC and Duke will want to break up.
My fault I read your post wrong earlier.

I thought you meant they were leaving the ACC

I'm hardly passionate about anything, but this is an exception....

OU is all but done with the Big XII and Texas. Too many schools with big markets and respectable football programs left to salvage this conference.

The fight going on now is between the administration who wants to move to the B1G so they can gain the sponsorship to be admitted to the AAU. All this is nice, but doing this will kill OU football because the reality is that proximity and favorable weather for our recruiting base, compared to the B1G is better in the Big XII or SEC. Since the Big XII won't be sustainable, the SEC is the next logical choice.

The big money folks want the SEC....

I highly doubt OU is done with Texas. Both are working with each other. Also, from everything I read, the SEC really wants to go east if they expand.

Boren is close to retirement anyways.... This entire realignment ordeal has set the university back, so he isn't the most popular person in Oklahoma right now. Boren is on borrowed time. He probably won't make it to 2025.

If Texas/ESPN let go the Longhorn network for a real Big XII network, then the conference could survive.... but that ain't happening. Houston and BYU ain't getting in either.

So Texas will get their independence in football and play all other sports in the PAC-12 while OU is going to the SEC(if boosters get their way) or B1G(if administration gets their way) in 2025.

RIP Big XII

For the SEC its about TV sets/population, college football and geographic continuity with the rest of the SEC. Texas is out since Texas AM has already brought in the state Texas' TV market. Oklahoma doesn't have the TV sets for the SEC Network. The logical choices would be Virginia Tech and NC State since both institutions would pull in their whole states TV sets to push revenue on the cable networks.

You could easily say UNC and Virgina but UNC isn't interested in breaking up the rivalry with Duke and Virginia's football program hasn't been traditoally as good as VTech.

ATL…overly
We don't need to get any bigger...we've already got problems with the round robin schedule and actually playing teams from both divisions

Additionally we don't really need to add anybody...Clemson & FSU are like SEC schools but i don't see them leaving the ACC and being a big dog to be a little bro in the SEC

Except OU had and still has an open invitation to the SEC. Boren, as white people generally say, "screwed the pooch" when he didn't leave with Texas A&M after Colorado, Missouri and Nebraska had either already left or were making arrangements to leave.
