Seems like the older generation was more about trying to save for retirement, waiting until their older in their late 50s and 60s, and then start traveling 5-6 times a year. This generation is f*ck it, I'm going on vacations multiple times a year in my 20s, debt be damned

The vacation "entitlement" of the younger generation is unreal

Don't get me wrong, my generation was full of slackers who prioritized free time and social lives over working two jobs, some of those same people are now dead from diseases, overdoses, the overwhelming majority hate their lives, love their kids, hate the person they made the kids with and will never be able to stop working for as long as they live. Rent+car+insurance+medical payments can be fun for a 40 yr old

I prioritized work. A vacation was driving from central Florida to Tampa an hour away on my day off. No less than 50 hours a week no days off Started a business at 30. Bought a house in full at 40. I'm now semi-retired cause I don't really have any bills, my property taxes are low, and I'm permitted to make money in several cities across the country whenever I feel like it.

Now I'm planning a very nice European vacation to begin my worldwide travels. I've earned it and I'm financially secure.

I can't believe how many 20yr olds believe taking worldwide vacations is the norm. Some of them even borrowed money to go to school, cry poverty about paying them back, meanwhile they got passport photos online.

The younger generation has serious housecat tendencies. They wanna be paid and loved for existing, doing the bare minimum possible to establish a place for themselves in society. Sacrifice and perseverance are foreign words


Enjoy the affirm vacations but also as well if u don't get serious about saving money and acquiring assets instead of yolo, hope u all enjoy the future cause the price of everything is going up and the jobs are gonna start disappearing.

That’s cool it worked out for you but what people are rebelling against is the requirement to do what you did just to have a decent life.

There is no more single income, 3 bed 2 bath home, 2 kids, a stable job with a pension waiting on folks.

You asking a 21 year old crippled with debt to work 50 hours a week to live in an apartment that doesn’t leave them money to save for a home. And be happy about it. There are no more “starter homes” someone can buy to get established.

That shyt ain’t flying anymore.

Bruh it’s cheaper to fly your kids to France for a week than it is to drive them to Disney World. I know, I priced it.

It’s cheaper to fly to Rio than it is to see a concert in a major city in the US. So fukk it, let’s fly.
