Seems like Millennials and Gen Z want to go into debt to take vacations instead of what their parents did

Let me tell you something

Your 21 yr old "crippled" with debt can buy a house and retire before 50 easily in today's economy

A 21 yr old should be in good shape. That means it's not necessary for him to buy a 40,000 car with payments for the next 5 yrs, 200 a month for insurance, along with gas and maintenance

Drop the fukking ego

Buy a thousand dollar mountain bike. Get it tuned up every 3 months for 50 bucks. Buy no flat tubes. Every single last dollar u had to spend on the car money trap, save+invest. Utilize Amazon, insta cart, Uber one, Lyft. It's not 1998 it's 2025 a car is not a necessity everything including groceries can be delivered. Rental cars can be had for 60 bucks a day for dates

Now in 5 years instead of a paid off used vehicle that makes u look poor or u gotta buy another one, u got $50,000 as a down payment. Now u not paying rent, u paying down a mortgage

Before the age of 40 the house is yours, simply cause u rode a bike instead of driving a car to work

U all are doing to yourselves, tryna impress and outdo each other instead of focusing on aquiring assets and removing yourself from the 9 to 5 hamster wheel. The money is there, the younger generation is absolutely horrible at allocating money properly, and even further, they brag about getting finessed. When the hell did sneakers start going for over 500 dollars? Thousand dollar jeans? They wanna play rich instead of actually being rich

How many people do u know with thousand dollar phones? 600 a month car payments? That's a waste of money. That's why they can't afford a house, they spent the house money on trinkets

Stop spending, stop being free walking billboards for rich companies and learn how to to grow your money

It's thats too hard then fukk it, go live in a van down by the side of the river

Nevermind the fact if people actually focused on relationships and partnerships, not pseudo-transanctional bullshyt, it'd be much easier for young folks to save up to buy a home or make other significant investments. But everything is so fukked up now with dating

yall knew crashouts decades before the term was invented. they will figure it out or they wont.

t-dot till they bury me
That kind of mindset is why a lot of people are struggling in their 40s and 50s and worrying about being able to retire when they get to retirement age instead of stacking, investing, etc in their 20s and 30s. I'm not saying not to enjoy life when your young, but the majority of people live into their 70s and beyond.
Not everyone has the same priorities:manny:

I live my life like there's no tomorrow
All I've got, I had to steal
Least I don't need to beg or borrow
Yes, I'm livin' at a pace that kills
Ooh, yeah
Ah (runnin' with the Devil)
Ah, ah-ha yeah, whoo-hoo-ooh

I’m always reminded of All in the Family where Archie had a decent house, stay at home wife car and daughter all on a factory salary.

I was able to luck into a niche financial area years ago that has afforded me a certain lifestyle (not wealthy but able to save a good amount) and have my grandmas house from an area of DC that’s now been gentrified (built a Wallmart at the old shopping center I lived at as a kid) so I feel barring a super emergency I’m ok.

Environment is so different for the younger generations that even if I think its reckless and many will regret it later how can I blame them when the country has fukked them all so billionaires can get another tax cut?

yeah...a coworker passed over the weekend and i literally had talked to him on that friday before leaving.

shyt is spooky how he's just...gone.
Had 2 of my close high school friends and my cousin all same age as me (early/mid 30s) passed over the past 2 years…definitely puts life and mortality into perspective

my whole life is a scam. im a #1 advocate of live your life & have fun before it’s too late. worked my whole life to be successful in the eyes of my parents only to see that the wages haven’t matched the increased cost of living and the corporate game is some kool aid bs.

All the boomers in this thread being like "these youngsters don't want to work anymore 🤯🤬

😂

I'm a old nikka myself but I promised myself I would NEVER become a old out of touch person.

Anybody going hard on this generation doesn't get it.

There is NO AMERICAN DREAM ANYMORE

It's literally almost financially IMPOSSIBLE to buy a home without help

Ridiculous cost / LOW wages

No more PENSIONS!

Maybe even no more Social Security

Might as well go on Vacation :yeshrug:

Relax millenial BOOMERS
