I think very deeply
Of course the usual suspects taking the thread personally because it clearly applies. Hit dogs hollering once again.....
Oh look it's this thread again, where a bunch of people think they are more special then other people and bemoan generalisations while using generalisations against other people.
Introverts are obviously deep thinkers and better people overall
Go head and give yourselves the respect you sought entering this thread guys
Reminds me of the day it was perfect outside, so during our lunch instead of napping somewhere secluded- I choose to go outside and chill on the bench where some of the other employees eat.
I walk around the bench to take a seat and this white guy says, "Ah, King Jay has finally decided to bless us with his presence".

Jeez. Cant even enjoy a good day outside.
Cant win for losing with these people.

Your work colleague is just trying to be nice man. Although it comes off as being corny.
I guess what a lot of introverts don't know is that at a basic level --speaking to etiqutte in social situations -- sometimes you have to take the L and make an effort with people.
Being an introvert is fine but you should try to improve how you deal with people or rather how you interact with them. It only takes a little effort, and if anything that's the least you could do for other people. Imagine how you come across with this attitude that you need to go recharge instead of taking a little time to just say hello.
Not saying to fake small talk but just a quick hello would suffice.
Maybe I'm wrong but that's how I feel.
Part of the reason why I transferred was because I was tired of my coworkers and their drama. This is just something that has been on my mind for a minute and I really do not have anyone that is willing to have a serious discussion about it with.
Sometimes my friends say stuff like, "Before I met you, I thought you were stuck up/mean/weird/etc. because you were so quiet. But you're a cool guy!"
I'm just like
Really? Really? Because someone is okay with not having to talk just to hear themselves talk, they are stuck up all of a sudden?
Even in the workplace, the people that usually get promoted are the ones with exceptional social skills. And the ones who actually know their job but are quiet are treated.
It's almost 12 PM and I'm already tipsy, so I figured I'd ask the Coli brethren and brethrenettes (?) about their experiences about this
I wish I had that book in middle school, it was a great read.Because of Dale Carnegie. Seriously read Qunite by Susan Cain. I wondered this myself. I think it's because our society doesn’t know how to handle private people or those who are internally involved.
I'm certain people thought I was stuck up. They never said that shyt to my face though.Just a observation, but I noticed that women don't really get the same treatment if they're introverted. Like if you're a women and introverted, people assume you're studious or a book reader or something in that bracket. But if you're a male, especially a young Black man, if you're not turning up 25/8 then you get labelled a lot differently.
This isn't a women bashing post and please don't take it there, just something I noticed.
That's funny because I'm the opposite, I no sell customers when they want to talk and got them with that look.breh, if this ain't the fukkin' gospel
that's why i hate dealing with cashiers, they always wanna throw out some ice breaker line and i'm just like
