TI was in American Gangster with Denzel Washington, The Main lead in the movie ATL, on numerous TV shows, bodying songs with Kanye,Wayne and Jay on the record, number #1 billboard songs with Justin Timberlake and Rihanna, all while dropping Platinum and Gold records consistently.

If that aint a superstar,WTF do you call that? :wtf:

Nas was definitely a superstar for several years with 1996 being his peak. It Was Written has sold over 4 million it was at number one on the Billboards for four consecutive weeks, in the top 20 for eleven weeks, and a total of thirty-four weeks in the top 200 that's impressive. If I Ruled The World and Street Dreams/Street Remix got regular radio spins. Even Pac called Nas the ringleader/face of the East Coast. Nas videos were being directed by Hype Williams, he was featured on several classic albums in hip hop and R&B, he was the head of The Firm, went Platinum twice in one year only DMX and Pac have done this in '99, he starred in Belly, Stillmatic went 2x Platinum he and Jay had the city on lock in '01 with the beef, '02 God's Son was arguably the best mainstream release it went Plat and The Lost Tapes went Gold with little promotion.

nas was never a superstar neither.

sorry dog.

just gold

"It was certified Platinum by the RIAA.[13] The album was more successful than its predecessor Kiss Tha Game Goodbye"

:sas2:Now lets take a look at Camron after he no longer had the Rocafella brand behind him with Crime Pays in 2009

"Although none of the singles managed to chart, the album still reached Number 3 on the Billboard 200 but only sold 150,000 units, making this the lowest selling album of his career"

:sas1:Now lets take a look at what Jadakiss did in 2010 with Last Kiss, where he linked up with Rocafella

"The album debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200, selling 134,520 copies in its first week. As of June 23, 2010 the album has sold 361,747.[15] Jadakiss later responded to the sales, by explaining he was pleased with the album's overall success, and that it has since been attributed to traditional marketing"

How the hell Camron a bigger star than Jada:stopitslime:?...yall need to stop confusing a nikka who is a loudmouth, and talk of the moment with superstars....cats with loyal fanbases like Jadakiss gon sell decent everytime, but folks to busy worried about dudes who like to talk a lot grabbing headlines and blog attention:manny:...Ill even concede he probably was as big as Jada, but lets acknowledge he got there through wearing pink and doing and saying other crazy shyt, but I guess that's how you get star status so I cant knock em,same could be said for a lot of "superstars":yeshrug:

Cam was bigger thank kiss. His movement, the diplomats was strong. Other careers were launched from that, TV shows came outta that. Cam had mad nikkas wearing PINK breh. That's influence. Cam introduced "no homo" to a lot of nikkas. Can farhered alof of slang we use in here today. Cam played Rico breh :wow:. Paid in full is arguably the goat nikka movie and cam
stole the show in that movie.

Record sales don't define everything. Cam was larger than kiss easy

Im saying,he was very visible based off music, had hits that got played as much as any of the tier one nikkas...I don't think nobody nowhere can really say they knew sumbody who didn't fukk wit TI and nikkas wasn't bumpin em:patrice:,but for whatever reasons his sales numbers didn't match his visibility and how much you heard his records get played, and how much people talked about and seemed to fuk wit TI:manny:...with all that said based off sales I still think u would consider him tier 2...and here lies the problem

Tier 2 of that era is a tier 1 of today...matter of fact tier 2's of that era is bigger than the dudes nikkas consider superstars today....TI was bigger than Drake in his prime imo,i think its unfair to call Drake or a Kendrick a superstar because they leading the charge in this weak azz era:wtb:...these dudes woulda been like tier 3 or below,Camron level if they was in the early 2000's thick of things:heh:...not a bad place to be,but lets keep some perspective.

I think a tier 2 of that era would still be considered superstars too:patrice:.

T.I. was definitely a superstar. He was performing at the Grammy's twice in one night, performed at the VMA's, was on shows like Ellen, getting the likes of Taylor Swift to get him to come out and his shows and so forth. That sounds pretty crossover to me.

Btw. I agree with the idea that the Wu were superstars in the 90's. That's correct, as a brand/group/collective, the Wu was known. Whether people liked them, knew their songs or whatever, the world knew Wu Tang.

Jim Jones had nikkas wearing that wack Ed Hardy shyt,New Boyz had nikkas wearing skinny jeans:snoop:...moral of the story is nikkas will wear anything that catches on,even if its only catching on bcuz nikkas wanna be different:laff:that alone cant get you superstar status....Camron was very well known as dude that wore pink, but lets be honest dipset was mostly for the kids and yes I was kid back then too....he might of been the first hipster favorite, because I don't see much difference from him and the artist these hipster blogs hype now,who get attention for style and they crazy antics...but the music aint hitting the people like that at large....a cult following is great, but that aint superstar level...Gucci Mane aint a superstar but id say he's more of a star than Camron was/is on a cult following level even, but his territory is right around there to me...its just levels to this shyt:manny:.

What if I told you I can't stand WU-Tang group albums and the only members I like were Ghostface, Rakwon, Method man and that I didn't hear any one playing WU Tang until I was grown and it was a white dude playing it?

Has nothing to do with anything really. That's like me saying "what if I told you me and everyone I know had zero interest in the movie 'Avatar' when it dropped"....which is true but doesn't change the fact that it did close to $3 billion at the box office.

Your personal experience =/= reality at large, basically.

Fred.

If you told me that, seeing as how it has nothing to do with the thread - I would say...

So than you KNOW that it doesn't matter if some bama 'nati boys didn't listen to Wu-Tang. You would KNOW Wu-Tang are superstars. There's no way any objective hip hop fan would say otherwise. I fvcks with Dipset but let's be real claiming that they are/was bigger stars than Wu is cry laughing funny.
Dudes acting like they weren't superstars in 97 are out of their goddamn minds. No Cam album was ever anticipated on that wide of a scale.
