Settle this debate for me. Was Cam'ron ever a superstar?

Cam was more popular than Wiz....In fact Cam and Wayne had the same level of buss than Cam came up missing.
nah....as far the wu/dipset debate that popped off...yeah, nobody really listened to the wu like that down south. Equating Dipset with Wu would get you laughed out of any respectable hip hop debate. And I fvcks with Dipset. Acknowledge that they are one of the few certified legends and game changers in hip hop history.

when i was in Tampa summer of 1995 Wu were big. shyt, Keith Murray was big. The South is vast. You can't speak solely from the bumfukk Alabama, Miss, Louisiana perspective and ignore the entire eastern sea border.

a lot of Cams and Dips fanbase now are a. people who are under 21 and hopped on the Cam'ron/Dips bandwagon cause they seen or heard a new school rapper mention them or b. people who hardly fukked with hip hop then, but now they love Cam & Gucci.
dead ass, I've tried talkin with a chick like that before, who was dating this guy I knew who was a legit Cam fan.. her tumblr was filled with pictures of Dipset and Cam.. and that shyt is fukking annoying. Don't front fan-dom because so and so is regarded as "cool". bytch didn't even know other songs other than Hey Ma and Oh Boy..
this is what a lot of these new aged Cam "fans" are like.. they see other people big upping Cam and the Dips and hop on the bandwagon cause they "look cool" and Cams this funny type dude.. but they are not fans. just hype beasts.

No. Come Home With Me he had 2 big hits but he wasn't on the superstar level. After that he wasn't close, but he built a fanbase who worships him tongue in cheek, still recognizing his foolish/goofy moments (Yauze, Complex, biscuitsandbangers)
Cam'ron had a lot of cac hipster fans by 04/05. Those type of fans you mention now would have liked him then if they knew he existed, there were the same type of fans liking him for the same reasons back during his run.
