This is absolutely true breh. Folks forget there’s a mental aspect of any sport that some people just do not and never will have. I went to high school with a few nikkas that had all time potential but had no mental discipline. They working regular jobs just like everybody else now.

They get confused when they see nikkas like TO and Iverson and think they’re showing you the whole side of things. Them nikkas behind closed doors were psychos about the game. They just didnt let you see that for image sake.

Essentially This. You have to be a bit of a sociopath to reach those levels. Not just ability but spirit. Every athlete interviewed isn't even happy about being the best, they almost seem tired, because as with all things it drains you. Practice, drills, mindset etc. She just happened to be blessed with genetics, but that means nothing if you don't have the drive. From Lebron to Kobe, the mentality is that of a psychopath remembering every play, every stat and every loss.

And yes, there's plenty of guys out there who are far more athletic than say, MJ but they know nothing of how many shots, misses, days not seeing your kid, and dreaming of your sport. It's an entirely different mind set and planet.
