Thinking about this more.

The United State cares about 3 events in the Summer Olympics, honestly:
  • Swimming
  • Track & Field
  • Women's Gymnastics
However with Women's Gymnastics, there is this unhealthy 'tone' to it. Where it's not so much about the athletics, but having these Role Model/'Princess' vibes that the Country looks at these girls. Not to mention there has been a ton of abuse from the federation along with a ton of sacrifices from the athletes; mentally and physical.

I don't think Simone should've gone. I wouldn't be surprised though, a few years from now, we will start hearing how the United States Federation was pressuring her re-join. I do believe she is suffering from the 'twisties' as she says, but I do think that she has voices speaking to her behind the scenes in which the United States has to win despite not having a better all around team.

As the father of a competitive gymnast, the mental aspect is just as important as the physical aspect. You lose your focus during a difficult skill and you could end up in the hospital.

Go back and watch the vault she did before she stopped. She lost herself in mid-air to the point she didn’t even do the full twist. You could see the fear in her face when she realized she f’ed up. And that wasn’t even a terribly difficult vault for her standard. I would never make a gymnast do something if their mental is screwed up… you’re asking for a disaster to happen.

Quoting so these :flabbynsick: dolts can see.

Yup its what I said in the tokyo thread in the coliseum. In Gymnastics if you're not 100% you could you could literally paralyze yourself. Remember Elena Mukhina?

Is that what the coli would want ?

not one poster in here could refute any of my points. Y'all just like to talk while u sit around on your ass and have never accomplished anything. :manny:

Your point and what you've been saying doesn't shyt. If her heart wasn't into it (it wasn't), then she should have just stayed at home instead of caving into pressure and obligations to show up. It's that simple.

It's the same message we've been saying about Osaka, yet it's wrong to say it about Biles. If you don't want to do it, then don't go :yeshrug:

I would have rather her just stayed at home if she didn't want to go. From her comments before the Olympics, it was obvious she just wasn't into it mentally.

I don't believe in having people do things out of pressure and obligations especially for something like the Olympics where you can totally speak up and say no with no problems whatsoever. She could have said that she just wasn't mentally into it and wanted to sit out the Olympics and no one would have said a word about it and commended her for doing what's best for her mental health.

A lot of people overlooked the signs and were more so focused on wanting her to compete for her country and helping bring home to gold regardless of whether she was into it mentally or not.

Good for her. Her body, her mind, her health comes first. Fukk the Olympics. If you not on your A game, risking becoming a paraplegic so a racist ass country can give you a nod and then go back to calling you a n---er bytch during the off season ain't worth it.

And I wish some idiot would come at me in my feelings over "patriotism".

Unfortunately, the patriotism is likely what compelled her to go in this instance even as she obviously didn't want to :francis:

You called her a quitter. if she pulled out you'd have called her a quitter back then. She showed up because she thought she could give it a go...

When i used to be a regular employee back in the day i'd show up to work when i was off and there were times where i just had to go home because i tried and couldn't do it. Same thing.
